Do you think a new weight limit/class is necessary for heavyweight?

This has probably been discussed before multiple times, but in the light of the last decades where huge guys like Lennox Lewis & Klitschko bros dominating the heavyweight division, do you think a new weight class or a modification of current weight limits is necessary? (as cruiserweight limit changed to 200lbs from 190, in 1980)

I mean Lewis and Wlad are over 2 meters/6'6'' tall, and over 240lbs/110kg. On the ring you can see they obviously belong to a different weight class. It's almost like putting a Welterweight in front of Kovalev and expect the little dude to beat the beast. Sure some nature freaks like Mike Tyson can achieve success from now and then, but it's obvious that guys under 1.90m/6'3'' and under 100kg/220lbs will be often destroyed by the Wlad/Lewis type giants for the upcoming decades in the heavyweight division.

It can either be a new oversized weight class for 220lbs/100kg+ or a super cruiserweight class between cruiserweight and 220 (numbers are debatable of course)

    Any thoughts?

    Thats why cruiserweight was created

Heavyweight should be kept as an unlimited weight division

If you can't cut below 200lbs you belong in the heavyweight division

I'd pass. There too much history. The heavyweight division has no weight limit. If there ten guys at once like Wlad and Lewis, then create a super heavy division.

I'd like to see boxing detract some divisions to mirror the amateurs.

No, the last thing boxing needs is more divisions. Fuck that!

There are too many divisions as it is. Too many belts. Too many idiots at the top ruining the sport.

A new division is needed between 175 and 200 more

And we have only heard complaining about the need for a super heavyweight division since America has started doing terrible

Well guess what it won't help you at all becuase you have absolutely no one at cruiser weight anyway and if that new division was created usyk would rule 220 with an iron fist

That's ridiculous having a weight division that is between 190-220

Huge fighters that could drain down and come into the ring near 240 would be competing against guys who couldn't make the 190 limit anymore

tbh Wlad weighs what, like mid 240's? So a 20ishlb weight advantage on guys who don't make a 20-25lb cut to cruiser. That really isn't excessive when the dudes are that big.

This topic can be revisited when heavyweight champs are all 275-300lb, 7ft tall.

I proposed this because rules are meant to be changed whenever needed in every sport. There was a time when 1.90m/6'3'' and 200lbs/90kg was considered a huge guy, and weight limits were set accordingly. With advancing technology in nutrition and better understanding of the human anatomy, those limits have been long broken. They can't fulfill today's classification needs.

In other weight classes, the limit between the upper and lower class is only a few pounds, so an opponent can either be taller or bulkier, can't be both. In heavyweight on the other hand, you can have an opponent 20cm taller and 50lbs heavier, which makes a fight quite uneven. The smaller guy is left with no weapon especially when the taller guys abuse their hight with constantly clinching to keep the opponent away.

Anyway, I do believe a new super heavyweight class is necessary for the sake of the sport. I also believe it will be put in place sooner or later. I just think they shouldn't wait until heavyweight division gets boring to a point people will stop watching it, which definitely shows sign of it in the last 15 years, or in other words, since the downfall of Tyson.
