Do you think a young 154lb Roy Jones Jr would beat Floyd Mayweather Jr?

I'm sure Floyd at 150 would have been a huge threat to Roy's glass jaw.

Is the question now "would RJJ have fought" FMJ

Let's face it prob not even if he had the tools to beat him

This is like the most unlikely fight ever to happen if it could have

I didn't start that thread. Why would I care? I don't even rate DeGale he hasn't done anything

    Floyd wouldn't fight RJJ.

Similar to other stylistic nightmares for him.

Harry Greb must be doing 1080s in his grave every time Mayweather fights.

Khan isnt going to beat Mayweather, the more he throws the more opprutunities Mayweather has to counter

To beat Mayweather you either need to force him to be the aggressor or be able to fight on the inside and bully him in close on the ropes . . . . Khan is an aggressive outside fighter mostly like Pacquiao and we saw how well that went.

    Mayweather UD or TKO.

    You might be right

But I still want to see the fight

I can't think of another fight that would be interesting at welterweight

All I said was DeGale doesn't have a Chin and I still think he doesnt. You don't prove your Chin against Dirrell.

RJJ vs FMJ would be a great fight. It's really a toss up but I'm leaning towards RJJ. We was just too damn athletic.

BUT Floyd is such a genius in the ring...

    I say it'll be a draw.

I respect your opinion, but I can't see how Floyd would have beaten Roy.

Offensively, he would have held no advantages over Roy. Roy used a wider variety of shots, and was just as fast, if not faster, and he possessed one punch knockout power.

From a physical standpoint, Roy was bigger, taller, with a longer reach, and he'd have been heavier. He was bursting at the seams at 154, whereas Floyd weighed in at 150 against Oscar.

As for the actual fight, I think that Floyd would have fought ultra defensively, not wanting to engage Roy. So I don't see how he could have won more rounds. He couldn't have outboxed Roy, and he certainly wouldn't have traded with him. Stylistically, it would have been a nightmare for Floyd.

Why doesn't De Gale have a chin?

    When has this been proven?
