if Bayless had allowed him to continue (not just in round 4 but from the rest of the rounds).

The reason why I asked this question is because many people didn't agree with Bayless to stop the fight that way.

IMO, Khan was so stupid to trade punches with Gracia while he was getting drunk. That's not the way he supposed to do.

It would have been hard but I would have liked to see him continue. Bayless might have saved the kid from getting demolished like he did vs Prescott though.

Khan's family didn't seem to protest.

    He had 2 options.

    1. Whip out the unicycle and back peddle for 8 rounds, losing all rounds.
    2. Stand up and get caught by a massive shot again.

KD 3 was the softest of them he got up with little difficultty and responded to the commands without issues and looked ok on the ref cam

but Bayless gave him 2 pretty long counts and breaks before the 3rd one and Khan really didnt show a reason to let it go

my assumption was that Khan would just have eaten canvas again b4 the round was done

though i will say he looked like he recovered a lot,,,,a case of a fairly stopped fight due to what occured but the refs timing of the stoppage wasnt right

rather than being too early he was too late and when he did stop it it seemed like it could go on,,,had he done it earlier nobody would have bitched

real shocked Roach let it go on because of how he looked at the end of the round in his little dance, in the corner and the first minute of round 4

No, he was wobbling all over the place and getting dropped by partially blocked glancing blows prior to the stoppage. He was about as gone as you could possibly be without being on the canvas.

he was done. bayless did a great job of stopping the fight even though khan said he could continue.

    khan wouldve been brutally ko'd.

i thought he had recovered by the middle of the 4th round but he was already down 3 times and wobbly since the last round so i totally understand the stoppage. i would have loved to see him give khan another last 30 seconds tho

That's exactly what he saved him from. Khan was a punch or two, tops, from being pasted to the canvas, ala Paul Williams.

Now, personally, I would have loved to see it - because I think Khan has always been an over-hyped, arrogant fraud with a glass jaw, who thinks he's a LOT better than he actually is, and it would have also been more definitive - but the bottom line is that, even though it didn't go to its natural conclusion, Khan was a punch or two from taking a canvas nap, end of story.

Well! Looked like Khan would have chosen the second option. We all saw what he did in the fight, didn't we?

I thought Khan was on the verge of recovering until he went down for the third time from a little tap by Garcia. I don't understand how he survived all of the 4th, just to go down from such a weak shot towards the end.

Well you are assuming that and we don't know. Obviously your hatred of Khan has clouded your judgement.

I'm not saying it wouldn't have happened but we don't know. When he fought Maidana, everyone thought he was going to get killed and it didn't happen. He might have survived, got his senses back and outboxed Garcia over the last rounds.

    We will never know.
