Nice post. He relies heavily on his speed and flurries. He is not a pure boxer and doesn't have amazing power, stinging but not great. I'm interested in why Bradley didn't take the fight. I guess he feels he deserves more money and it isn't my place to say he doesn't. Skill-wise, Bradley is superior. He also continues to improve his boxing skills. He lacks power but shouldn't be taken lightly. Was really looking forward to these two fight

Also, the 140 lb division is deep but not at the level it once was. The state of boxing right now is kinda stale. While Khan and Bradley are good, I don't think they are great.

    No.

An argument could be made for "unproven" (which I don't buy after the Maidana fight), but the guy is a world class fighter.

By his fans he is, but he's not overrated anymore by other fans, because they'll realized he's not about to be the next p4p #1

Khan is 24 years old. Fighters need time to become great. It doesn't just happen overnight, in most cases.

    dunno

some think he is a bum for his one KO loss he had the wlad klitschko effect everyone thinks hes gonna get KO'd in every fight

    some think he is great

i think he is very good but is not the best at his own weight he needs to beat Bradley or Zab or Alexander

I think Khan is a good fighter, but he is a lil overrated. He's a very athletic fighter, but his skills need some major improvements. His ability to land / defend is mostly based on his athleticism right now, not because of his skills.

His arsenal is pretty basic. A basic one-two and some pitty-pat distraction punches. At his most confident, he'll commit to throwing bodyshots, but he goes back to his one-two after a few rounds. He does not punch through his opponents, but rather just enough to get away as soon as possible. He's awful on the inside and is just decent at mid-range. His strength is definitely his outside game.

His defense is also based on athleticism. He uses his legs, but rarely any head movement and lacks any good defense in close quarters. He will also have problems with guys who can fight on the inside, but he'll handle most guys who think they can fight a long-range battle with him.

Barrera, Paulie, and Maidana... his best win and ROTY was him running around the ring with his legs all jiggly about to go while a one dimensional Maidana had him on ***** street.

Broner, Paulie, Khan... That's where he is currently.

Yes, not massivly but as brilliant and as dominating as his speed is i think the work he actually does is a bit basic, mainly speedy jabs and fast one twos, improving but not great defence, mainly down to his average at best footwork.

But the hand speed and the fact hes usually got a decent reach advantage can be a real winner for him, its a good thing to have in your arsenal

His last fight was a bit crap but that wasn't Khans fault, McCloskey didn't come to fight.

And I don't see people overrating him, I just see people hating on him.

But I do every now and then see comments that are a bit... "Rich?"

I think he is a great talent, but still shows signs of being green, like not being able to stop an upper-cut and diving forward and missing.

But he is only 24 and I do think he will only get better as time goes on!
