Angulo is slow as a snail. He'll never be an elite fighter.

You don't have to be elite to give Cintron hell. I think Jesse Feliciano proved that.

Well it was rumored prior to that fight that Angulo had been ill. The HBO commentators even mentioned it during the bout and said Angulo missed a fighter meeting with them since his traveling to Florida may have been delayed due to his illness. On fight night, Angulo looked completely listless lacking his usual intensity. So I don't think it's a stretch to assume he was indeed ill.

It's funny to me how a fighter is always criticized for making an "excuse" if they refer to an injury or illness after a loss that may have hampered them during the bout, as if it's completely inconceivable.

True, and by a bunch of people (myself included) who would gladly call into the office sick on some absolute BS.

He was sick,he looked a bit drained and he was only 159 lbs instead of his usual 164-165 but Cintron also fought a very good fight.

Didnt Cintron have a broken or hurt hand in that fight?

Yes, Angulo had the flu. Angulo would bury Cintron in a rematch

I think Angulo was sick and it affected his perfomance against Cintron. I also think Cintron is a lot more confident now and would also fight a better fight in a remacth. I would love to see them do it again.

And Cintron would absolutely be correct.
