Do you think Antonio Margarito loaded his gloves against Cintron?

Very likely that he was loading from about 2004 onwards, IMO, possibly earlier. But it doesn't make sense for him to load (a) when he's a champ and has everything to lose and (b) in a fight where he was already a heavy favorite, and for him not to have loaded in earlier fights where he had less to lose and needed the help.

I can't imagine he wasn't loading from at least the Lujan fight onward. May have even been loading as early as 2000.

All that said, I'm not sure how much of an effect it really had.

It wouldn't surprise me based on the Ring magazine photos.

It seems pretty clear to me that the first fight was a case of Cintron being weak mentally. However i believe Margo had the wraps for the second fight. Cintron was spitting blood...I have always maintained that Margo started using wraps after losing to williams to get himself back in the picture. Look at Golden Johnsn, Cintron 2 and Cotto. 2 body shot KO's and a mangling of Cotto. I think Margo actually thought he was the **** until after the Williams loss.

    That's a pretty good estimation.
I really wish he never did it, I think he completely ruined Cotto's career and confidence.

Sure, why not? He's a proven cheater and deserves no benefit of the doubt..... Excuse me, he's a proven attempted cheater.... for those who like to split hairs.

I agree with that estimation, but I think the effect it had on Cotto's confidence are slightly overrated. It may have had him questioning his own stopping power, the way Margo just took what he had to give, but Margo did that to everyone. That being said, he looked ready to brawl vs Clottey until the gash, and against Pac, until the 2nd KD. I will say this, I do think the punishment he took that nite against Margo does play a factor in his decision to retire so soon.

I couldn't agree more. Cotto was a wrecking machine until that beating. And the beating that PAC gave Cotto did not look the same as what Margarito did to him. There is a difference between being bruised up and being mangled. Watching Cotto-Margarito is painful to me now...

it doesn't matter if he was loading his gloves or not he lost fights ... and just like Miguel Cotto ... Kermit Cintron would've never be able to beat Margarito. Psychologically he wasn't ready for that step and his trainers couldn't devise a game plan for him to win the fight.

Even if he loaded his gloves it didn't stop him from losing to Paul Williams or Daniel Santos (even though it didn't go the distance).

Void was convicted of misdemeanor battery in 2004 after an altercation with two women. Did Void load his gloves for that fight? Roger beat up a woman also, were his gloves loaded or did he even use gloves?
