Do you think anyone in the Phillipines is rooting for Floyd to beat Pac? Then why is it that all these Americans want to see the best fighter in our country get beat??

I understand hes loud and cocky and people are very put off by his attitude. But is there no sense of pride? Isn't it nice to say that your country has the best boxer on the planet?

It is not like the guy is 100% bad he does some good things for the community. He seems to be a pretty good father. Those are things that the average person can respect..

I'm flabbergasted that people still don't get this angle. I take it all with a grain of salt.

If nice guys finish last in life they finish less than last in boxing. People pay damn good money for the opportunity to see an ******* get beat up. So unless you've got movie star looks like De La Hoya or you have a style that's conducive to producing highlight-reel knockouts like Manny: say whatever you gotta say to create a sensation. :conf

People dont like his attitude and heel act. As for Pac everyone still loves him, even his infidelity scandal hasnt seemed to create many haters but who knows.

Well at least one person will, so yes.

  7. Will anyone in Compton be rooting for PAC?:lol:

I've come to realize that most of the cocksucking/hating that goes on in this forum and on the internet can be reduced to national/racial allegiances. Makes you realize how pointless it is to even argue with someone. It's like meeting a Palestinian and trying to rationally persuade him that Israel is a nice country.
I mean what chance have you got?? Seriously???

the only way filipinos will turn against the pac is if he starts singing My Way on his promotional tours or concerts

My filipino colleague told me someone got shot in the head for singing My Way in Karaoke! Mad but true!

AND for the record, in the Hatton fight, I INSTANTLY began rooting for Mayweather to win after the Brits disrespected our National Anthem......So there

People don't always support boxers based on where they're from. You have to be able to relate to the boxer or find something else on a deeper level than just where he was born.

I'm from the UK but I think only Hatton makes my top 10 of fave fighters.

There are obviously a lot of reasons why you can relate to certain boxers better than others. I suspect that most (not all before some of you get on my dick) Americans of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Fillipino/Asian descent will root for Pac whereas most of Floyd's fans will be African American.

It's not just that though. Pac is popular because he has an exciting fighting style, takes on the toughest challenges without ducking anyone, seems like a funny and cool guy outside the ring and represents everything good about boxing.

Froch is from my country but I just cannot relate to the guy at all and can't support him. Mexican Americans will always support a Mexican vs an American, unless the American is of Mexican descent.

A lot of people might not like what I'm about to say here but **** em, cuz this is the truth and people need to stop being so sensitive and wake the **** up. Amir Khan is British and yet he gets so much hate, largely (not completely) due to his background. In the same way, the average Asian kid just cannot relate to a guy like Froch. Nationality don't mean much. I know a lot of Asians in England who support Scots and Irish over the English as they feel they can relate to these guys better and it makes sense when you think about it. Barrera was talking about how popular Hatton is in Mexico. I bet it's not just cuz of his fighting style.

Man, it's not all to do with racial and cultural allegiances but it plays a part. Apart from this, you got things like fighting style, outside the ring personality, their choice of opponents etc.

Floyd v Pac is the classic Bad guy vs Good guy storyline. I know Floyd's a good guy really but he plays the bad guy, people have bought into it, and that's the way it is.

And lemme tell you something. I wasn't really sure who to spport in that fight, slightly leaning towards Mayweather but that happening made me feel much better about PBF beating my countryman. That **** was ****ed up. It's not really logical as this had nothing to do with Hatton, just his idiot fans, but that's how it was. I felt bad for Hatton but happy that these idiots who give our country a bad name saw their hero get schooled.
