Warren did the same to Haye, Calzaghe, Khan and Hatton. Don King had a 6th sense and would turn his back on them before they did.
IT's a fight contract thing. Once the 10,20 or however many fights under contract are done, Bob expects the star he built to sign another contract and stay with him. When it doesn't happen Arum gets bitter because he built the fighter and wanted to enjoy the spoils of superstardom until that star had burnt out. Once you reach the top, a promoter is not needed and is nothing more than a big hand in the pot.
As far as who the best since Ali is, that's Duran - followed by Leonard, Whitaker, Pac then Floyd. In that order.
Warren and Sourland make Arum look good when it comes to slave contracts. Warren has the nerve to try to keep fighters after the contract has ran out. It's just sad. Calzaghe could have been so much greater without him and both Hatton and Calzaghe would have been richer if they didn't stay with Warren so long.
The difference is *******s like yourself actually believe Pac is better than Ali while I don't agree that PBF is the best fighter since Ali.:deal
Do you think Bob would come out and say stuff like Pacquiao's old promoter said about him keeping him away from fighters with a slick style and stuff
Of course, but don't act as if other promoters are innocent either. Look what Oscar is doing to Shane. When fighters are under a promoters wing, they'll say the fighters are the best they've ever had. When the fighters leave, they start to bring up stories that are half truths and start twisting the reality. That's why fighters have to watchout for themselves because just like promoters can seem to be angels in disguise they can be scum of the earth and screw fighters out of millions. Keep in mind they ain't really helping unless they get a dime back in return.
I'd say if Pac left Arum, Pac would get slandered so bad it's not even funny. Worse, Arum would probably find a way to do it in a way where he'd get the most sting with the least liability/risk of getting sued. The man is a lawyer fyi
