I think when Tyson fought in Tokyo that Boxing should have blew up there. However, that wasn't the case and nothing really came from that. It would have been cool to see some Japanese Heavyweights and Middleweights. Do you think it can still have the chance to blow up there or has the time passed? Tell me what you think.

Murata has a big upside, he's going to be a big star if his chin holds up. But Japanese aren't quite as fanatical for boxing as other countries.

Boxing is big as **** in Japan...

The Kameda brothers fights do in HUGE numbers. I'm talking about in the millions.

They have the most champions in boxing before U.S, and have among the best prospects in boxing.

I mean Tokyo Dome big like K-1 was back in the day. When I see or hear about Boxing matches in Jappan they are always held in the Korakuen Hall.

    From Fightnews 2009:

The day has come. WBC flyweight champ Daisuke Naito (36-2-3, 22 KOs), Japan, will risk his prestigious belt against unbeaten compatriot Koki Kameda (21-0, 14 KOs) today (Sunday) in Saitama (the adjacent prefecture to Tokyo), Japan. Some 20,000 people are expected to be in attendance at the Saitama Super Arena.

It is huge in Japan, there just traditionally havent been that many big Japanese guys.
Japan is a powerhouse in the lower divisions

Would you say boxing wasn't populat in Mexico because there hasnt been many guys over 160?

That's how you build a sport. In Australia there is no free TV boxing coverage and boxing is suffering big time as a consequence.
