Obviously a lot of confusion around this fight, Vasquez appears on camera saying the fight isn't signed, a boxing journo also says Vasquez told him that he's not coming over for the fight. There's been no real word from Burns or his management. It's a unification fight and there's been no real promotion or press conferences featuring the two headliners. All seems very strange.

So, in your opinion will the fight happen?

I think there has definately been a problem, its too quiet from both camps for there not to have been, I did wonder what with Groves jumping ship apparently over money whether the money saved might be used to make sure Vazquez actually gets on the plane.

I must also add the above is purely hyperthetical and is not too be taken as any factual happening it is merely shall we say a musing.

    Doubt it.

I noticed Wa**en talked about Cleverly and Chisora in his column today, not one mention of Burns or Groves.

That doesn't look good does it? Discusses a guy fighting a **** opponent on the undercard and no mention of the main event. The other guy he's talking about doesn't even have a licence.

I've got a mate (he's the scottish guy from the Wingy Podcast) who's going to this fight with his old man. If this fight doesn't happen then I'll feel so sorry for him. Ripped off by Allegedly or at least let down by Allegedly's shite deal-making.

WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns' scheduled title unification fight with Miguel Vazquez has been placed in doubt, STV as learned.

Burns was set to put his title on the line, with Vazquez risking his IBF belt, in a unification fight in London later this month. There are now concerns that the highly-anticipated meeting may not take place on the scheduled date.

STV has learned that the fight is now in doubt because both parties are yet to finalise terms.

Promoter Frank ****** is expected to make comment on the matter within the next 24 hours. When STV contacted ******'s camp, the response was to insist that the fight would go ahead, though they could not confirm when this would take place.
Vazquez's representatives were unavailable for comment.

Any cancellation or delay would be a further blow for Burns, who has not stepped into the ring since a successful title defence against Kevin Mitchell in September 2012.

A planned fight with Liam Walsh in December was cancelled after Burns' opponent was injured in a car accident and his replacement, Jose Ocampo, pulled out following the death of his trainer.
