do you think byrd can win?

Golota hurt Byrd several times with body shots. I expect Povetkin , who is no fool , to dig to the body, and then work upstairs. Povetkin likes to throw punches in bunches . I beleive that is an effective way to fight Byrd.

 

Not for Jameel who threw in bunches but missed most and couldn't finish the annoying lil man, faded down the stretch in MSG Night of the HWTs like it would happen AGAIN in another title fight later... Byrd is no Imamu Mayfield, Geppy! I never could understand how Golota could connect and then drew that fight though...

 

The reason why Bryd fought into such close fight with Golota, he was told by King to start fighting more exiting fights. If I remember correctly that fight was on spike tv, if Bryd would of stuck to his own game plan he would of beat Golota very easily.

 

Byrd has no chance of winning and very little chance of lasting the distance. He is insane for taking this match. He's never ducked anybody, but he should have ducked Povetkin. It is a horrible matchup for him in almost every way and if you watched Byrd's last few fights, you would see he has absolutely no chance.

 

Admittingly, I didnt see the Byrd vs Mccline fight. I will take your word for it , but it is hard to beleive Mccline was throwing an abundance of punches. Usually Mccline is so very timid and gun shy about letting his hands go. Against Byrd he probably just had nothing to fear. You will see a difference between the combination punching of Mccline and Povetkin. That is not how Mccline usually likes to fight, but that is Povetkins specialty , combination punching.

 

I think he WILL win. He is very good defensively and will create many problems for AP.

I think AP have ALL of the skills to do it...I just fear that its a little too much too soon.

No offense , but when was Byrd's last impressive defensive performance? He was hit alot by Oquendo, Golota, Klitschko, it sounds Mccline as well. Byrd seems to be getting hit alot more. TOS vs Byrd , I dont even consider a fight, neither deserved to be payed.

 

i always believed that byrd could not beat a talented heavyweight.

he did good against the giant uncoordinated ones or against the fat slow ones.

now he is in decline and povetkin looks like a real talent with good size. this would have been a tall order for even a prime byrd.

i pick povetkin by onesided UD.

 

Povetkin is the right mix of inside game, power, chin and determination to get Byrd out of there. And I believe he will.

Don't be surprised if Povetkin ends it on a left hook. :yep

 

no he's become to hittable. all he had was his defense.

 

Povetkin's style is totally wrong for Byrd IMO.

I would give Byrd a good chance to beat Valuev,Virchis,or Peter,but Povetkin can bang,is fast,and throws combos quite often during a fight.A mobile puncher who can bang.Not an desirable opponent for Byrd!
