I doubt it now. After everything that's gone on Canelo has to accept he's no longer calling the shots and I can't see him making that concession. Golovkin proved himself in the first fight and doesn't need the rematch and I can't see Canelo bending over backwards to make it.
If the rematch happens, Oscar and Canelo will probably want to let things "marinate" for just a little bit longer to really ensure Golovkin is completely shot. Wouldn't want to risk another draw, or, hell, even a loss.
September or not, this will happen eventually. There's too much money to be made already and the controversy is making it more exciting.
...its withering on the vine...Oscar needs to get real & throw his little precious ATM in the Christians den...
I hope not. I did want that fight but the more clear it becomes that GBP and Canelo are desperate for it cuz they want that money so much the more i want Golovkin to walk away from it. Ive wanted those 2 to fight since before the cheating pretend Mexican threw that belt away like a good boy but ive seen it, there was 1 clear winner so my curiosity as to that match up has been fulfilled. I saw Canelo run away from his opponant most the night. Perfect world, Canelo cant get a fight against anybody, all the middles face each other and just freeze that cheat out. I know wouldnt happen but its all he deserves seeing as his PEDS ban was a complete joke.
I want to see GGG gain a clear win by at least scoring a KD on Big Red. Age is a mofo so GGG needs the fights sooner than the young meat eater IMO LETS SEE THIS IN SEPTEMBER
All I ever ask for is a an HONEST ON THE LEVEL FAIR FIGHT with the legitimate best man winning. BUT With Oscar Bob Bennett the NSAC & Vegas boxing its doubtful we;ll get it but we can hope
First fight was both close and good enough that the rematch has to happen. I've certainly lost confidence it happens this year. I'm on the fence with saying either way... Canelo botched it 100% testing positive but it seems like Golovkin is trying to strong arm his way into some extra coin? If that gamble doesn't pay off, it's he who will suffer from it (financial and legacy).
