Do you think Canelo should move up to160 now, or wait longer?

    He hasn't actually weighed at 154 for his last 3 fights which where all contested at 155- he failed to make 155 against Kirkland by half a pound so may really struggle to make it in his next fight- even if a rematch with Mayweather came up, two years on getting down to 154 may prove to be just as tough as getting down to 152 was 2 years ago.

    Should he just go up now?

    He's going to have to move up eventually, obviously. Yeah, the question is when. I doubt he'll mind moving up immediately to 160 if the first fight he lands is Cotto.

    Wot m8, missed weight by half a stone? That was Frankie Gomez. Canelo made weight for Kirkland. But ya, he should move up to 160. I've seen enough of the 155 lb division.

    my guess is Canelo will move up from the 155lb division to Cotto's 157lb division if, and that's a big if, Cotto can beat Geale.

    I actually think he might fight Cotto, even if Cotto loses. I think that fight still would do well. Then he can look to Geale, before tackling a certain fierce Kazah

    Only if he lands a Cotto fight for the middleweight title.

    Otherwise no. He should wait around until GGG is forced to move up and sacrificed to the Son of God.

    Maybe GGG is thinking of waiting around at Middleweight until Ward has to move up and is sacrificed to Krusher

    I actually think that's a good strategy for GGG, assuming his people believe there's a sliver of a chance that they can land a bigger name south of middle - eventually. Ward is in a similar predicament to GGG, only worse I think.

    I do think Canelo will fight him sometime next year if he gets by Cotto, and GG does what we are all expecting.

    A lot of people said he wouldn't fight Trout and Lara, but Canelo himself demanded those fights even though his teams wasn't keen on them.

    It is a pretty big difference to fighting someone people believe will beat you, compared to fighting someone who could brutalize and knock you out. Not saying Canelo wouldn't fight GGG either but he's obviously a much different animal compared to Trout and Lara. And Canelo's already got a decent taste of GGG's power, strength and skill in their sparring. He would know how much different an actual fight would be and the potential to get hurt.

    That's why it's so easy to get behind Alvarez — he wants to fight the best. OK, in subtle terms he did skirt around the GGG subject ever so slightly post brutal Kirkland KO, but he wants to fight the best. As has been repeatedly stated here, his resume at 24 is excellent.

    Well until he says something, then does otherwise, I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

    If the fight is built up, and Canelo's the underdog, I don't think it would do him much harm to take an L.
