Do you think casual boxing fans just don't understand how technical boxing is?

Hate to say, but we have many hardcore fans that have no idea what they're watching. That's really bad because this is the toughest of ALL sports and the technical aspects are really hard for most to grasp at all.

Boxing is very under appreciated from almost every single fan, be it hardcore or casual. The sport is so technically tough where your have to be top notch in every single area to make it to the top.

That's why I hate reading on here how 50% are bums, 30% are cherry picking glass chin fraudso. 15% are average (on their best night, fighting bums) 3% are good fighters and only the remaining 2% could carry "past greats" jocks.

One weakness and they'll get targeted and torn apart. I guess what I am claiming is the fighters don't get enough credit, and NON (that are near top of division) could ever be classified as bums or journeymen who cherry picked their way to championshipS

Casuals don't care how technical boxing is. They just came to see guys punch each other in the head.

How would Conor land on Mayweather? I mean a pro boxer spends all his time trying to make his punches as least telegraphed as possible and Mayweather STILL reads them like an open book. I mean take Canelo for example, Mayweather was able to dodge 5-6 of his punches at a time and Canelo is a very good boxer in terms of his punching technique/combos.

What hope does a guy with less than average technique have?

    You're totally right.

Because boxers get old and injured and I've seen champions get bombed out with windmill punches by a brute with zero technique. Also, a week doesn't pass without some kind of robbery; so there's always a chance.

It will be 2years since he fought and he is now 40. I presume the fight will be around 154 and he is reportedly walking around at 160+. He probably feels he only needs light gym work to beat the mma guy and doesn't need peds. He will still beat the sh!t out of Mcgregor but may take a few shots along the way. I wouldn't be surprised if these two have got something cooking which involves Mcgregor having a few moments to set up a big money return.

Unless they are having a "Kick boxing" match dude has less than 1% chance against any boxer truly ranked in the top 20 and no chance in he/LL against a ring master/wizzard like Floyd.

As I've said before, they see it like a video game where what matters is the "stats". There is really no way to describe how hard it is to even touch a competent boxer until you get in there with someone who knows what they're doing. The guys at the top are basically superhuman. I love the pros vs. joes episode where a fat Gatti looks like a defensive wizard who never gets hit clean against a young guy in his prime by casually strolling in and out on him.

A bullet bouncing harmlessly off of someone's head by pure chance. That's the only comparable thing I can think of. We're talking astronomical probability here.

Casual fans understand boxing. They just don't follow the sport. They can't name a bantamweight champion. They only watch the big name fights and will pay to see only fighters that they know or like.

I'd like to see an example of an old ex-champion boxer getting bombed out by someone with "0 technique". I take it you mean someone from the crowd with gloves on?

Mayweather Sr. was able to school Charlie Zelenoff despite being a 60+ year old man with Sarcoidoses. A shot 45 year old Roy Jones was able to KO a pro MMA fighter in his early 30's with an amateur boxing record in 2 rounds. There are too many levels to this ****.

Look at the corner video and you might think Hatton looks basic, standing there throwing combinations and stepping around. Then look at the bigger 1st person view and you'll see it's extremely hard to even know where the hell Hatton is, let alone tag him, let alone anticipate his punches.

Specifically, I was thinking of a kickboxing fight Ernesto Hoost, one of the most skilled kickboxers to ever lace 'em up vs Bob Sapp, the most clumsy mountain of muscle I've ever seen. Bernard Hopkins getting bludgeoned out of the ring by Joe Smith. I thought about the very capable Emile Griffith getting TKO'd in 1 round against the very limited but very strong Rubin Carter. I thought about how the spastic Freddie Mills somehow managed to conquer the light heavyweight champion Gus Lesnevich.

Other than that, I thought of how Cotto knocked out a crippled Martinez, or how Pacquiao showed up to the biggest fight ever with a bum arm. Or how he got robbed in the Bradley fight or how Gonzalez was just robbed in a fight where he outlanded his opponent by 157 punches. I was thinking of how Roy Jones kept himself from going 50-0 by DQing himself against Montell Griffith, or how Terry Norris turned that trick twice in a row against Luis Santana. I was thinking of the way that Charles Martin won a heavyweight title by Glazkov pulling a hamstring, or Klitscho getting a bolt out of the blue from Lamon Brewster.

I was thinking about how weird **** happens from time to time in a boxing ring. John David Jackson got iced by Jorge Castro. Danny Williams dislocates his arm twice and still manages to knock out Mark Potter. Fan man. I've seen Mares lowblow Agbeko twenty times without getting called for it. I've seen guys win on fouls they should have been DQ'd over, or malingerers faking fouls to win.

Joe Smith cut the ring off and landed a great combination with correct technique, timing, and power. He's a competent professional. His knockout of Fonfara had already established that.

Cotto is a Hall of Famer with a Hall of Fame trainer. Again, extremely competent.

Against the best fighter around today.

Robbery is the most likely out of all these situations, but following the money indicates a robbery wouldn't be institutionally beneficial or in the same area of remote credibility.

Every single bout you've mentioned involves two competent professional boxers. For Mares to lowblow Agbeko he needs to actually be surviving in the bout. None of these outliers compare to the astronomical probability of Floyd losing. Not even fanman.
