Do you think casual boxing fans just don't understand how technical boxing is?

Online voices are especially harsh because of anonymity. But in reality, the harshest critics are most likely the biggest ps.

I've never boxed a round in my life, not even with head gear.

But from the stupid street fights I've had (and the occasional beating taken) I've felt enough to know these guys are tough as f.

Passion distorts views and racism does too.

Personally I think you can only truly appreciate the nuances when you have boxed or at least sparred a fair bit.

It's like me kicking a football around the park and thinking I could take on Beckham.

Any sport at the pro level is super technical and can only be appreciated by people that at least tried it. Or tried it against a pro

Or see if I can return a serve off Sampras. Or even score one point in a whole game. Unlikely.

The couch potato calling people bums is so far removed it not even worth contemplating

Toughness is one attribute a vital one for fighting but there are so many other facets involved.

The hardest thing about boxing is trying to keep your nerve, technique when your exhausted and someone's trying to take your head off. Hard to appreciate the levels of tiredness you encounter unless you have a live bout. It's like nothing else.

It's hard to appreciate sometimes because the pros make it look so easy as they are so highly skilled.

Do I think people who do not know anything about boxing and have never boxed don't know a lot about boxing?

Why yes, yes I do think that.

Pointless thread of the week award.
