Do you think Cintron really leaped out of the ring against Williams?

If your name is Kermit, there is no doubt that you jump.

so do I... like I wrote... we was in wlads camps for 2 years.... mentally weak when sparring and fights get tough or he feels stress.

no doubt in my mind he jumped out... not planned ahead, but he just kinda went with it. I would see stuff like this many many times in sparring. Like I said... mentally weak

I don't like Cintron as a fighter, never have, maybe thats why I would say he did get in that ring with that in the back of his mind, 'WHEN things get tough I can just end it'. I for one think he premeditated it and it helped him get in the ring for that fight. I don't think he ever thought for a minute he could beat PW. What do you kids think of that?

    you didn't answer the question.

He didn't "melt down" -- that's an emotional process, that takes time to develop. In an instant he was airborne flying out of the the ring. There was absolutely zero precipitating event. No meltdown, just flying.

Why didn't he jump out of the ring against Margarito? He had two opportunities to fly out of the ring against Antonio, but instead got KTFO. Why get KTFO when you can leap out of the ring, kamikaze style?

I certainly did answer the question. The meltdown I referred to was Margarito I. That indeed was a process, but panicking can happen at the drop of a dime.

You describe it as though Margarito was propelled through the ropes by an outside force. He wasn't. He even made sure to clear the bottom ropes so that he wouldn't get entangled and get *legitimately* injured during the tumble.

It also helps to grab the body part that landed awkwardly. But hey, the guy was really really mad on his way into the ambulance — despite knowing that he'd get paid in full, regardless — so surely it must have been a legitimate fall. ...

To your final point, fighters make different choices at different times. Look at the heart Ortiz displayed against Berto versus that of the Maidana fight. Sometimes, the guys get tougher, and sometimes they get weaker. Cintron universally is considered weak — he clearly bailed on the Williams fight intentionally.

I think in the heat of the moment he sort of kept his momentum and figured he'd land on the table, get back in the ring, and be apart of a semi-dramatic moment. Boxers look for those opportunities. So, YES.

But, if the question was: Did Cintron jump out of the ring intentionally to stop the fight? I would say NO.

Agree. It wasn't like he was taking a savage beating or anything..

    Very strange.

He wanted to escape the fight. And he fought on for another undeserved pay day.
