I was at the fight. Kermit tripped over Paul's legs and to brace himself for a better landing, instead of falling face first into the ropes, did take a leap.

He took a leap to prevent himself from getting tangled with the ropes which could have flipped him upside down out of the ring.

Kermit leaping wasn't a ***** move. Pretending to be seriously hurt was.
