I thought Braehmer would do him back then, nowadays I reckon Cleverly is just too big and busy for him. Whether by age or inactivity, he was knackered the last few rounds tonight. Still a classy operator when he's got it on him though, and would be the best name of Cleverly's record.
Clev to win this, hes technically better than Gutchnecht, but also has the better stamina and workrate and has the ability to mix it up a bit against Braehmer. Braehmer started getting tired in the later rds which to me would be bad news if he fights Cleverly
Complete mismatch, Cleverly would dominate him. I don't think Brahmer looked that strong tonight. I don't think he had a lot in the tank power wise or work-rate. He got by just using his southpaw advantage and throwing in combination well, against an uber-plodder. I don't think he'd get much of Cleverly's respect and would get Murat'd.
Braehmer is a *****. If he thought he could win he would have fought Clev when it was first mentioned.
Was thinking the same as I was reading the comments about possible outcomes.Isnt Bellew the more logical next opponent, though? Gutnecht looked better than Ive seen him before, strange really.Yes,Braemar looked good also but Cleverly almost 10 yrs younger, quicker and probably fitter.Would give him the edge, the Germans criminal background wouldnt help IMO,its hindered a fair few.
Gutknecht is terrible! The guys just terrible. Has no idea about foot movement and no imagination at all. The fact a 34 year old Brahmer who was never all that, just a decent fighter in his better years, can come out of prison after an extended lay off and completely outbox the guy at times sums up how bad he is. It says a lot of Danny McIntosh that he got stopped by this guy.
