From Watching Saturday's Fight I Still Feel Cotto Tried To Form A Game Plan That Was Floyd Mayweatheresque

Do You Think That Cotto May Admire Floyd For His Savant Boxing Skills?

And Yes This Is A Serious Question.

I don't think he tried to copy Mayweather. He did what he had to do. Had he tried to stand toe to toe with Margo all night, they would still be trying to scrape pieces of him off the canvas.

When he was in the ropes he was trying to be Mayweather.

While I was watching the first half of the fight I was thinking he is working the ropes with defense almost like Floyd does but not quite as effective even though he was coming off with better combos.

Margarito was throwing 100 punches a round the first half of the fight and only landing about 20. While Cotto was landing at almost a 50% rate. It was a thing of beauty on Cotto's part. I just wish he could have done it for 12 rounds instead of 6. Margarito is just a ****ing bull though and wore him down.

I think he was just trying to do him and it was probably their game plan. And I'm sure he admires floyd as a boxer.

Amazingly, he doesn't know how to clinch at all. IMO, if he knew how to, this would have went to the cards and we might have seen a split or draw. But yes i believe he does. Not a big Floyd fan but you have to admire the defensive skills.

No, outside or inside. I highly doubt he does.

Cotto is twice the man Mayweather is inside the ring.

when i ask this question i dont mean with respect to saturdays fight but in general..

i mean lets say he did have an enormous respect and appreciation for floyd

that might explain how come cotto was always hesitant to call him out and stuff like that

people dont understand how much of a difference this made in the fihgt... cotto only clinched when he was in trouble... in stead of using it as a technique to drain the pressure
