We know that Cotto is supposed to be retiring after his next fight, but lets say he wins and changes his mind. Beefy Smith is now the next in line for the WBO Title that he lost to Canelo and seeks to regain, that Cotto holds. Though the fight seems doubtful with Cotto talking about retirement, if the fight were to happen in early 2018, who would you favor and do you think it would be an entertaining fight. Do you think Cotto has what it takes to stop Beefy like Canelo did or would you expect a decision? I'd expect most people to pick Cotto, but I mean personally I think it would be a very entertaining fight. Beefy said after beating Williams that he wants to attend the Cotto fight. Do you think he will reach out to the Cotto camp and ask Cotto to delay his retirement for a fight with Beefy? Most people don't rate Cotto's next opponent too highly, and at the same time most people don't want Cotto to step up to take on a Powerhouse like Triple G or Canelo. But it seems to me that Beefy would present a good challenge to a near-retirement Cotto without it being too much of a risk to Cotto. I mean if you're Beefy Smith, I would think you would really want that Cotto fight, winning his Title back from Cotto would mean more and it's a name opponent and a big payday for Smith. It will be interesting to see if Beefy tries to make that fight happen and if he'll show up for the fight and call out the winner.
