I mean his record speaks for itself. The man has fought a lot of names. One's you may recognise like Ward, Ornelas, Zuniga, Simon, Pascal, Stevens, Vera, Lara, Rodriguez, McEwan, Gonzalez, Stevenson, Kovalev, Periban, Davis, Monroe Jr,....and most recently Magomedov. He just fights top guys non stop. There's been no easy route for him. Fighting top prospect after top prospect. He hasn't been feasting on laundromat workers like some fighters... not mentioning any names... but yeah he's just been consistently fighting top guys and shocking some of them.
Boone, Augustus, Burley, the Alabama Kid...the list goes on. So many records hampered by a lack of "connection", in stark contrast with vastly inferior pound for pound boxers who ascended to even the highest nominal apex of the sport by virtue of having those connections (thinking of many in the Don King stable here; John Ruiz, K9 Bundrage, etc.
His record proves he has a motivation problem. He has performed the best against the best opponents. He floored Ward and Kovalev and knocked out Stevenson. So he obviously doesn't have a trainer who is capable of motivating him for the other opponents. To me, that means he has been mismanaged.
