Khan may not have proven much but he was heralded as the next big thing out of Britain. Very good amateur and Olympic medal. Nocking out almost everyone before the Prescott fight. Regardless , this isn't about what they have done in their career. This is about getting your chin cracked and never being the same. Khan was never the same after getting stopped. So curios to see how Haney bounces back when he gets clipped again and he will.
And Haney eating 9 left hook from a guy that just had a left hook isnt reckless? Like I said, it remains to be seen if Haney learned. You are reiterating my point.
It depends if he can get his confidence back, a first loss can be devastating to a fighter. He needs a couple of good wins under his belt, and maybe try to avenge his defeat to Garcia at some point.
sure he can be the same. What helps is to have a punch, which might be a detriment with Haney. When Tommy and Roberto lost big fights they still had power, even Roberto at higher weights had a good right hand..
Haney isn`t an offensive fighter in the way Hearns and Duran were, can you imagine what Hagler would have done to Haney? Duran was on another level.
I dispute less confident.....................and more cautious, Cotto at 147 before Margarito had already started maturing into a boxer/puncher, he was already starting to be more cautious. Then these 2 losses are nothing alike. Cotto was beating Margarito before falling apart (for whatever reasons). Then he actually eventually got his revenge. Cotto won another belt in the same weightclass, went up and collected more belts/accolades than went up again and collected more becoming the actual lineal champion and stayed a p4p fixture throughout the rest of his career. Then punched into the HOF. The Margarito loss was a setback but the rest of his career more than made up for that setback. Haney shouldn't be compared to Cotto, Cotto bounced back and continued on his stride to greatness. We don't know what Haney is gonna do, he might get clipped again, there's an abundance of gunslingers at that weight. Ryan ain't even the hardest hitter there. We won't find out anything about Haney until he fights his next hitter (not his next fight because I think it may be a softer touch).
He's food. His weakness has been exposed for all to see. Apex predators can spot weakness and vulnerability from a mile away. And that weakness is he can't take a pop on the whiskers. Even leprechauns half his size have hurt him but he's no longer down in Leprechaun town anymore at 135 and soon he will have to move up to 147 and start facing opponents closer to his own size. The sharks are circling the boat and it's only a matter of time before they get to eat again.
