He can beat guys like Francisco Sierra until he runs out of catmeat fuel. Can he ever beat guys like the ones he's already lost to? Never. :deal
Not at 168, possibly the strongest division in the sport. He might be able to grab a belt at 175 though.
People sure have short memory in boxing. Not too long ago Miranda was a killer, a destroyer, a top contender at 168lbs and the most avoided fighter in the business. I mean the Mikkell Kessler was "running away" from him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys already forgot about all of that?
That was such absolute horse****. I'm so glad the S6 came along to expedite their historical separation.
90% of the people here thought it was the truth until he lost to Abraham for a second time. Just like most people here thought Pavlik was the second coming of Jesus Christ himself until he was schooled by Hopkins. Truth or bull**** ... I guess it all depend on when you ask the question. :yep
atsch You get KOed by Pavlik and Abraham and you have no chin? :-( Ever heard of punching power? Those two guys had it and KOed him in their own signature styles. Pavlik rained down a brutal beatdown and Abraham caught him with a one hitter quitter. His chin is not absolute steel(he was badly hurt by Howard Eastman and dropped by Allan Green), but his strength, aggression and punching power make up for that. Green and Eastman would have KOed him if he had no chin.
Edward Miranda is the modern day "Mugabi / Barkley" minus the WBC title... Miranda can punch, but has no clue how to box or defend himself...... :-( MR.BILL
You beat me to it... He went to war with Pavlik and took more of a beating then I have ever seen someone take before Smoger stopped the fight. Miranda was ready to continue. Abraham caught Miranda in Round 3 with the EXACT punch that ended Taylor's career. Miranda got up but never recovered. He ended up being put down two more times before the fight was stopped. Miranda has NEVER been KO'd. TKO'd twice and by two of the hardest punchers in the sport. Now he has Joe Goossen in his corner. Word on the street is he is a new fighter and people dont recognize him in the ring. Like someone else said, let's see what happens come fight night. Sierra will be a good test. He may not be a big name or have fought any big names, but Miranda's style will quickly be seen whether or not he has changed. If he looks spectacular in this fight, expect him to make another run. Hey, he has reached the top of the mountain almost 4 times. Maybe Goossen has what it takes to get him over the top.
You're not the first to draw that comparison, Bill - personally I think the Beast boxes Pantera's ears off. :yep
