With the athleticism Miranda displayed in the first Abraham fight, he would be a very good fighter, if not titlist material, if someone would really work with him on the basics of fighting. And that means, not the movements, he pretty much had very good ones when he troubled Abraham in the first four rounds of the first fight. His fight plan is non-existing, and he has no reflexes. He doesn't go for an opening, reacting to getting hit back with defense, he works down his sandbag program on opponents, and when they start to hit back like Abraham, he goes all ????.

Wegener said he really would like to work with him if he wouldn't train Abraham, since he thinks Miranda is potentially a good fighter with rare athletic skills. Whatever happened to him after the Abraham fight that he lost a good part of it, must have to do with his diet and how he trains. He was strong at 160 in the first AA fight, and then suddenly goes limp from there in his next fights, even at 166-168 ? Either he ate wrong, or trained wrong.

Mirandas limit goes to top-level fighters, he can bounce back as many times he want, but he will go down again just as fast! he cant and will never beat a top fighter..

What the hell... am I the only one seeing a CLEAN RABBIT-PUNCH? :think

Sorry for the shitty quality but the gif was made from the Youtube video... which was made by Goossen promotions. Notice that the punch is being thrown and reaches Sierra's head, but the next few seconds, the contact, WAS EDITED OUT of the replay!

The frames I can see shows a clean rabbit-punch which ultimately sent Sierra down face first.

it looked that way...at least the shot that immediately preceded sierra hitting the canvas...that was my initial reaction.

but also, was that some actual head movement from miranda we saw?? damn i think it was!! he was actually trying to cut and roll with punches...i'll be damned. if he really sticks to that then he may very well earn another shot at the big boys.

Okay so I made another one, this one is from the live part of the YT video, not the replay, but the logo covers the shot (but it's pretty clear rabbit punch knockout for me):

By what virtue? At least Taylor has ability, Miranda has natural power but woeful technique, no skills and he's open to big punches that put him on the canvas face down.

Ugh... yeah, it does look like a rabbit punch, altho I'd guess unintentional. Kid shoulda kept his head up... I hate it when a fighter puts his head down like that.

At any rate, I like Miranda and would have liked to see him succeed, but I agree with the large consensus in this thread that he has the physical gifts, but lacks the boxing smarts and the ability to stick to (have?) a gameplan. I'm curious to see what Goossen is doing with him (this fight clearly was no test), and see if he can make one last run toward the top...

I thought rabbit punch at first too, but if you look closely to the slow motion, you see it lands on the side of the head. Borderline rabbit punch, but not blatantly.

It must have been in England. Rabbit punches are cool over there.

Sierra ducked as Pantera was throwing the right. Miranda just followed through and hit him towards the side/backside of the head. Legal punch.

I think Pantera looked very good in his first showing wth Goossen. No doubt Joe has worked hard with him on some basic skills that Miranda picked up and used in this short fight. With a little more work maybe Miranda will have what it takes to get past a top fighter.

Taylor will night fight again. I have a feeling they wont make it offical for some time though.

I dint think so. I mean he can have highlite reel KOs of lesser opponents but when he steps up he will lose again, again and again.

im not really disturbed in the slightest by the punch, look at where sierras head is at when miranda starts loading up to throw that punch, its not mirandas fault that sierra puts his head at that angle, miranda just follows through to its natural conclusion.... i dont expect him to halt his punch the second sierra puts his own head in harms way like that

That being said.... i wasnt that impressed by my boy pantera. His defence seems as leaky as always, and id like for him to focus on certain things when facing feasts like this, as in work on bettering your jab, see if you can get an effective body attack going in a fight, develop and sharpen other tools he has besides a right hand.

Miranda needs better game plans, and better defence.
