Whyte was faster and more skilled. Wardley has the better chin and power. Wardley will soon enough get his chin cracked and fade into irrelevance alongside Whyte.

    Whyte beat

    J-Park
    Povetkin (shot)
    Chisora
    Browne
    Helenius
    Rivas
    Wach
    Franklin
    Allen

    Fabio has beaten

    J-Park
    Huni
    Clarke
    Adeleye
    Gorman

Whyte has obviously lost x 4 and Fabio is undefeated but Whyte has obviously fought the much better opposition

In terms of resume at least Whyte is ahead

That being said, he has 35 fights to Fabio's 21

Whyte is getting the short end of the stick here, and his repeated failed drug tests also make it hard to make a strong case for him. He's one of the few who managed to knock Chisora out cold, has good wins over Parker and Helenius, and was the WBC number 1 contender for years. Wardley almost lost to Frazer Clarke on a domestic level and was getting completely outclassed by Huni until he landed a shot from the gods. He was also losing to Parker until Parker got dragged into the wrong fight. Fabio could turn out to be better, but I think prime Whyte was the better fighter, better wins, at least at the moment. Wardley would've lost to the version of Chisora that Whyte sparked out.
