Do you think Floyd deserves full credit for his win over Mosley?

I give him alot of credit for that victory. TBH I expected 8-4 or 9-3 but he won 10-2 or 11-1 so that was very impressive and I gotta admit he is even better than I thought. "Full credit" though is what I gave Vernon Forrest.

 

It was pretty obvious that Mosley wasn't the same guy he once was that night. Not fighting back, allowing PBF to back him up all night, looking all jittery and out of sorts...

...with that being said, I think PBF would have beaten even a prime SSM, so yes, he deserves full credit for the win, if for nothing else, because he won in a fashion nobody expected him to. Instead of backing up and pot-shotting all night, he brought the fight to Shane, and had he been a bit more aggressive, he would have gotten a KO.

 

Mosley was old and didn't train for the fight, he was also blood-drained.

 

Yep he deserves credit, but Mosley was clearly past it and showing his age. I think prime Shane would have starched Floyd that night, but you gotta give Floyd credit anyway for fighting him and beating him the way he did.

 

I say yes, he legitimately beat over the hill/shot Mosley,
but I don't see reason why Floyd shouldn't get full credit for that?

Floyd shown big skills, and determination overcoming his shaking
legs and weak chin in round 2, and give us the perfect performance
in the rest of the fight. Great overall performance from Floyd.

True Mosley was shot and blood drained but Floyd shown

Mosley was a reigning WW champion and scheduled to grab another title in a fight he was FAVORED (IMHO) to win. He was damned game, though not 100% prime. You guys also forget the fact that Mayweather has called him out NUMEROUS times previously only to have Mosley duck!

Nobody is saying that Mosley was 100%, but no way in hell that Mosley gets over 5 rounds even on his BEST day.

You're asking why Pac didn't' fight Mosley in his second fight at welter? I think you can answer that yourself. Floyd had been at welterweight for 5 years and he just got around to fighting a legit top welter.

Mosley not being 100% prime is an understatement. He was clearly way past it. His speed was diminished, and his reflexes and boxing instincts were gone. There was already enough evidence of that in several of his prior fights. That doesn't mean Floyd doesn't get credit, but that fight doesn't say much of anything about a prime for prime matchup between the two.

For real though I picked Berto to beat Mosley, before Mosley vs Mayweather was announced.

I also never thought for 1 second Floyd would be scared to fight Mosley.

39 years old.

It was a nice backup plan for the pac fight not happening.

Floyd did all the right things except finishing a 39 year old guy who hadn't fought in a year.
