i know the title is a bit miss leading, make no mistake hagler is easily one of if not the best MW of all time next to Monzon but do you think when you consider that out of all the fab 4 members hagler was the only one not to conquer multiple weight divisions?

    for example:
duran left behind a legacy at lightweight that has him regarded as the best lightweight of all time... and his career just got better from there as he beat some ATG's at 147,154, 160 and a short stint at 168

sure haglers fought great opposition but do you think he deserves maybe just a tad less praise then we give the other 3 members of the fab 4?

Hagler knocked out Hearns, and also outboxed Duran and arguably beat Leonard when he was past his prime. Duran went 1-4 against Leonard, Hearns, and Hagler. He quit against Leonard and was knocked out cold by Hearns. Despite this, many rank Duran as the top fighter out of the fab 4.

This thing about moving up in weight divisions can be very misleading. Some of the multi division champions have beat inferior fighters at the higher weights than they were beating in their own division. Some of it doesn't mean a thing.
Hagler deserves to be in any exalted company he cleaned out his division.

Well this really. Hagler is tied in my opinion with leonard as the best in fab 4.

  5. Got to put it into perspective, Duran fighting these guys would be like Mayweather cleaning up at 135, fighting a prime Mosely at 147 and taking on Williams at 147, fighting some of the top guys at 154 like Winky Wright, and fighting Hopkins at middleweight and then having success and winning a title at middleweight.

That's why on paper if you look at Duran it doesn't look that impressive, but the reality of it is he was a incredibly talented boxer for his size and didn't duck anyone.

As for Hagler, yeah you can slate him for fighting smaller guys but those smaller guys happened to be some of the best ever boxers to grace the sport. Plus he cleaned up his division in that process, Hagler fought some tough mother ****ers !!
