He is when he is not holding too much. I love to watch him fight when he is throwing loads of punches and hurting people.
We can tell you are a hater, you didn't really have to say Using Urango as an example of an elite fighter, as it fits your argument he has nothing to offer at that level. Well I hope you count Urango as elite when you are talking about his resume in that case... As for the 'ass whupping' he got off Collazo, there was nothing in it, it was a close fight. You can argue it either way, but it was definitely not an ass whupping I don't find him particularly exciting, but there are many worse
Great post. How are u feeling about the jc fight I take it u will be going over or watching it on setanta.
I'm going for sure I'm feeling pretty confident at the moment, but I usually get more nervous as the fight approaches. Can't see me being as nervous as the Kessler fight, that kid had me worried
U was worried about kessler, but you are feeling ok about one of the best boxers on the planet fair enough.
Kessler was a young, hungry lion. Everything about him was menacing, he didn't look intimidated in the press conferences, and I rated him pretty highly. He looked to have the physical attributes to match Joe, which is the difference. There was always a nagging feeling it may be the passing of the guard, but it's a different ball game against that relic I don't believe a man that throws so few punches can beat Joe Calzaghe. He'll have success in spurts, but overall he's going to be dominated
No, if he tried to be more exciting he'd get hit allot more though and thats why he holds/wrestles so much.
He's got a point Hatton can't throw a straight punch, so he's always going to be open. This flaw will be exploited by good counter punchers, which is why he struggled with Collazo, why he got knocked out by Mayweather, and why many people think Junior Witter would beat him Wrestling is an ugly but effective way of being hit less
My pick would be Hatton, but Witter does have a chance, it's not a fight I would bet any money on Hatton is a smart fighter, Mayweather fight aside. He knows the less time he spends on the end of his opponents inevitably longer reach, the less he gets hit. So he lunges in, goes to work, and then holds until the ref breaks it up. That's the only way he can fight, and that's what he will do against Witter Witter would be cautious early on, as usual. He would look to potshot, and catch Hatton as he comes in and he'd probably give away rounds to the more active Hatton. However, ironically I see his best chance being later on, for a man that has been criticized for his stamina. Hatton's stamina is definitely not what it was either. It doesn't matter who you are, if you are tired and start walking onto Witter's counters it's good night Hatton UD
Maybe Hatton is past his best but hes still never lost at his natural weight of 140 lb. so lets see him clash with Witter to settle that argument once and for all. Some people (scur) have always hated hatton and claim he ducked witter. Witter whos stock was so low after his pathetic showing vs judah it took him years to rebuild. But all the time Hatton was abviously ducking himatsch while soaring up the rankings.
Hatton is exciting when he fights but in his last few fights, he's been holding more than fighting. Maybe it was as a result of fighting better competition or maybe its the weight fluctuations
