i thought booth was brilliantly calm between rounds last night, and believe that without him haye would have lost some discipline and perhaps a different decision could have prevailed.taking nothing away from his victory, but what do you think?

Booth gets **** all credit for Haye's career. 'Unified' Cruiser Champ and HW Champ in 24 fights- not much wrong there in matchmaking either (leave out 'The Cat')! People will see just how underrated Booth is when Groves cleans up domestically and starts knocking on European doors:deal.

Yeah, Booth did very well in that corner last night. I do wish Sky would get out of the habit of apologizing every time a cornerman swears.

I can understand it a bit more last night because the fight was on relatively early. But when you're up watching a fight at 3am and a cornerman swears and they start apologising it does my head in. I mean if you can't swear on tv at 3am then when can you! You hear worse than that on primetime tv anyway.

    Stupid ****s :good

Booth did a very good job alright. Its pretty clear that Haye will execute any order he is given without question which was a vital component in winning

If it was a WBC title fight Booth would now be facing a 6 month ban.

totally agree , booth was superb and has always come across as both calm and knowledgabe whenever ive seen him interviewed.
and personaly i think his matchmaking has been superb and i include the fight with the cat in there as i feel haye learnt more from that fight/defeat than he would have from any of his others

Yeah, he was good, never panicked, never worried about hometown decisions going against Haye for inactivity. Good call from him but would there be a different opinion if the decision did go the other way?

TBH, I couldn't hear much of what was being said in the corners due to a lot of noise in the room but I liked the guys style ... Jim Watt was pissing me off though with his comments throughout the fight.

yep,i agree with the matching up against "the cat",it was a good stroke at that stage of his career ,he needed it and has been the best learning curve Haye has had, last night being the next best i think.
i only went to the thompson fight because i know what a wiley pro he was,and he showed david a snapshot of real boxing.

Is this the same Booth , who told Tony Dodson he neeeded a Ko in the last round of his Quigley fight to win ?
When was 5 rounds up .
The guy is a yes man and a bluffer .

A fighter's only as good as the guys in their corner and team. You need that right mix.

And Booth seems right for Haye. They get on like a house on fire and share that 'us against the world' kind of attitude I guess.

I was always pleased that Lewis did it his way without being in the stable of Don King, despite the fact that wouldn't smoothed the path tremendously for him. If Haye & Booth can do it their own way too, that's great stuff.
