No, Holyflied won 4 or 5 of the first 6 and Valuov won 4 or 5 of the last 6, so a draw was possible, (as one judge saw...once judge was blind as normal....and one judge had a one point up for Valuov.... and a one point win for Valuov is as I saw it....a bit of running is one thing, trying to do a marathon....plus Champion bonus was the difference.
Holy ran just a bit too much for a bit too long. IMO.
I swear Holy looked 35 in face and body.
He did much better than I expected.

the fight nfrom the start was a joke. valuev though limit is capable of much more then he showed i think he was trying to give holy the gift of a lifetime and holy still couldn't capitalize on it. holy should call it a career instaed of tarnishing a wonderful career participating in farce fights like this.

I don't think there should be overly much discussion about what Holyfield did. The inactivity of Valuev was bizarre. It was like watching an Akinwande (sp?) fight.

The "right" decision would be to return my money. Otherwise, in a terrible fight, Holyfield won by default. Easy.

If Valuev had thrown a bunch of punches that were blocked then I could see an argument, but he just stood there....

That's about the fairest summary of this fight you can make.

    Everybody lost.

I have a feeling they don't tally them.
HBO are the guys that tend to do that.

If I can get a copy of the fight sometime I might try a count myself.
Probably while reading a book with the other hand.

Like I pointed out in the RBR - Holyfield landed a sad 78 punches over 12 rounds against Larry Donald in 2004 and got his license revoked.

He probably landed around that against Valuev, and deserved to win.
    Go figure.

Punch stats will probably be important here in trying to decode what happened. Post them if you do that.

It was the worst Heavyweight robbery in history. Evander won at least 8 rounds easily. I am still upset because of the decision, and still in a bit of shock. I hope Evander is given a rematch, and the fight will be fought here at home, where it will be fair.

    Deserved it?

The fight was disgraceful and him knowing it was possibly his last fight it didn't seem like he even tried.

However, I did score the fight for him.

It was close - with maybe a tiny edge to Holyfield. But seeing that Valuev had the belt prior to the bout and was the one who forced the action a "robbery" it was not.

No disrespect, but Evander landed at least 15 or so big shots on the big guy, which is the usual number of big shots in a championship Heavyweight fight. It's just Valuev is so big, it is hard to KO him. Evander landed some good shots, and he deserved to be a 5 time champion. He is THE ATG.

Holyfield thrown 2 landed 1, Valuev thrown 2 landed 1.
