I agree completely! I do not dislike Valuev -- the managers and crooked judges are to blame. I hope that he has put aside enough money -- eventually he will outlive his usefulness and be discarded.

This is one of the fights that I want to forget and never ever re-watch. I am very interested what kind of explanation Valuev will give for his horrible performence. If he was sick, I understand.
Don't forget Valuev beat Liahovich this year and won almost every round. I think something must be seriously wrong with Valuev. He came at 310 pounds which is lightest of his carrier. He might be realy sick.
I am waiting to read his interview.

I wouldn't say that Holy clearly won by a wide margin, but for me he did enough in a fight that was only watchable because of the presence of a legendary yet seriously faded fighter. Very, very sad for boxing...

It's amazing that we still watch that kind of crap. Professional boxing shouldn't even be considered a sport anymore as one of the major ingrediences of any sport is fairness.

IMHO it's not only a problem of HW boxing. It's alarming that people seem interested in all those PBF/Hopkins/Holyfield/Jones/Tyson/DLH ... against anyone matchups. In a way its our own fault we keep buying this crap!

And BTW: Holy sh.., Valuev is so bad its not even funny...

Holyfield definitely won the fight in my book. All Valuev did was create the blueprint for the next guy to beat him, stay back, keep him turning, when he paws at you get in and out. If a slow 46 year old can do it, so can the other decent heavies.

I had the fight 116-112 for Valuev. Holyfield won rounds 2 and 3, Valuev won round 6. Those were the only rounds I found easy to score, all others were basically drawn. Most of those I gave to Valuev because he is the champion and no matter how bad he looked, Holyfield did not look like he was challenging that.

It's not enough to just engage the opponent twice per round and dance around him the rest of the way. He wasn't "turning him". For the most part, I thought Valuev fought just as "smart" as Holyfield, thinking "if he doesn't come to me, why should I go to him?"

If Holy had pressed the attack just once or twice more per round, he would have probably gotten a 120-108 decision. But he's too old for that. And this should be his most important lesson of the fight: QUIT!

I'm not even sure that the amount of punches that Valuev landed cleanly in the entire fight was into double digits.

Holyfield won the fight.Valuev was there to be hit, and was not throwing anything other than jabs once in a while. Holyfield had the chance to make it a clear win, but didn't take the opportunity. I just hope that there is someone out there to lash out at these judges.
