Do you think Hopkins regretted calling out Calzaghe after seeing the Kessler fight?

No I don't think so Klion22, there is no reason why Hopkins will want to avoid Joe. He knows the sport and he knows that in order to be recognized as the best you fight the best. And the fact that he is 43 and still fighting the best is a great deal for him IMO.

No regrets because old timer Hopkins is fighting only for the money...just like Big Joe Calzaghe...What a boring fight this is going to be...

No. I don't think the Kessler fight was as impressive a performance from Joe as quite a lot of his other fights. One of the best was the one-sided beating of Lacy. His movement at times in that fight was staggering.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Hopkins is obssessed with his legacy and how he will be remembered. Money is down the list. Sure he wants money but it's his legacy that is most important to him.

I don't know how you get that I was boasting about that...I was simply pointing out my ignorance...The point being that I don't know if that was his best showing...I just wasn't really that impressed with how he fought. Point me to what you would consider his best fight and I'll look at it and give an educated opinion on calzaghe...

But for now.... what I do know, is that in the Kessler fight the dude looked like he never stopped throwing punches and was sloppy! period.

Doubt it. Even if Joe kicks the **** out of him no will think any the less of Hopkins. He's 43 and allready achieved a lot. I think he must be genuinely excited by the challenge ahead. If he wins it'll do WONDERS for his standing p4p. He's got nothing to loose but his health in this fight imo.

Win or lose, he walks away with a ton of dough. He's not undefeated (though never KOed) and he's already hailed as one of the sport's greats. He doesn't regret a thing. He knows that Joe has the advantage, but has a very low chance of put him out. A UD loss for several million probably seems a fair trad to B-Hop, provided that's what happens.

While hopkins is still #4 p4p on many lists he has to still be considered in those terms, regardless of age. It's the best fight out there for Calzaghe now he's finished with smw

I bet Hopkins is regretting it. He's getting a bit old to be lugging alll that cash down to the bank again.
