Do you think it's better for Cormier to keep the ifght on the feet?

Frank Mir got pounded into dust on the ground by a large, comparatively uncultured slab of beef called Brock Lesnar. There is absolutely zero chance that Lesnar could have done this to a genuinely elite BJJ artist such as Fabricio Werdum.

Werdum is the only man to ever sub Fedor Emelianenko and the only man to ever sub Alistair Overeem (other than the one time Ubereem tapped to punches). These MMA accomplishments make Mir subbing a shot version of Nogueira that he had a 20+lbs weight advantage over look like the overinflated feat it was.

Daniel Cormier can beat up Frank Mir anywhere and everywhere. Frank Mir is a long, long way off being anything like a heavyweight version of Demian Maia. Don't let a flashy bone-break impress the chaps off you.

This is a case of mistaken identity sir. My name is Gerald and I'm from Edinburgh. Nice to make your acquaintance though.

The best Frank Mir? Lets be honest Frank is a gate keeper. Always has been, despite the title he won in the early days when the UFC heavy division was a complete farce. Frank has one of the lowest fighting IQ's of any 'elite' heavy. He got manhandled by Cormier. Cormier did as he pleased. And as expected Mir when faced with adversity just wilts. His done this consistently throughout his entire career. No amount of HRT is going to change that fact.

Mirs biggest problem is that he didn't seem to acknowledge his shortcomings. He was always horrible on his feet but used to jump around and feint like he was the second coming of Ali. I think he would hit some flashy combos on the pads in training and believe his own hype going into the fights. If he just fought to his strengths and tried to negate any striking and go for TD's he could have been much better. He kind of used to end up on the ground subbing guys after they had clipped him and knocked him down and went in for the kill. His JJ was reactive and he was successful. If he had concentrated on being proactive with looking to grapple he could have been much more successful imo.

Reminds me of when Matt Hughes started working on his striking and went for a period when he seemed determined to KO guys on his feet, he looked like a rusty robot. I think it's important to work on your weaknesses but not if it means you overuse them and neglect your strengths. That is what Mir has done his whole career.

Mir is shot and has been for years. His losses since the motorcycle accident don't count. :bart

Agreed. Mir's believed his own hype over the years and his first fight with Nog compounded that even more. The guy really thought his hands were that good. Against Cormier he was just expending energy and bouncing around for no reason at all. All those high kicks were a waste of time and just sapped his energy. Couple this with his poor chin, and inability to adjust when hurt and you have the same well trodden path, that only belies his own arrogance and unwillingness to acknowledge his very obvious limitations.

You talk of TAKEDOWNS (TD's) like they are a God given right to fighters who can grapple!

Frank Mir cannot wrestle, how can you get "TD's" if you cannot wrestle
