Do you think Jack Johnson coaching Joe Louis would have been good?

Was his style really wrong for Louis? Joe Louis had KO Power no matter what. Would it have hurt him to clinch and grab more often and to play it safe. It probably would have helped him in later life. Particularly since the old stance would have stayed in Vogue, more than likely, throughout his reign. I cant see him losing any more than he did and it is doubtful it would increase his longevity (though taking less punishment in fights it mayhave), but it certainly would have changed the way things had turned out. Boxing styles, modern attitudes, possibly even race relations.

Louis was the type of fighter who needed his feet set and balanced to deliver his shots. If Johnson was the coach tried to change it, it would not help Louis. The reverse.

I think it's clear, the two were opposites in many ways and Johnson would not be the right trainer for Louis
