Do you think Khan will retain his speed at 147lbs?

We all know that fighters slow down (sometimes) when going up in weight, but because of Khan's great hand speed, do you think he will retain that speed at 147?

Speed is all he's got. If he loses that then he's literally ****ed. Ariza will make sure his transition from 140 to 147 is smooth..

That being said Lamont said 'If Khan fights on after he loses to me, he's goin to lose to average fighters not just world champions'.

Lamont is being honest in his assessment, but he needs to learn some PR skills: talk Khan up a bit so that YOU are the only one who can beat him. Then if he loses later you can say you ruined him.

I think Lamont will be victorious in the rematch. Dunno why there are 200 votes for Khan by UD lol. Lamont is a honest person... Khan is confused and his statements often contradict.

Peterson can't box with Khan so he will go with his other plan... to rough Khan up in the inside with body and head shots. Will be an interesting fight May 19th. Have you voted on the poll?

He might still have his speed, but he'll still have no chin, brain, or defense.

I think he has never had brain or defense. The only defence I saw from Khan was when he dodged that 5 shot combo against Kotelnik.

why not? speed hasn't ever been an issue for him, and he has a competent conditioning coach

I think Lamont is trying to get inside Khan's head so that he starts having doubts or starts putting too much pressure on himself. Either way, Peterson wins the psychological war.:think

To me he already has the body of a 147lbs but he's been masquerading as a 140lbs. Ariza's "cough" supplement shakes will not doubt of helped him gain some extra muscle mass. Say scenario with Chavez jr imo. Look how huge he's got over the last few years from being a tall lanky kid.

Khan is actually a big 140lb, his transition to 147 will be fine. If anything he will be stronger.

But as mentioned before, his brain and defence will not improve with weight.

Yes. I think he has the best shot of anyone at 140 to make a smooth transition to 147 based on his size, age, and coaching.
