Do you think Kovalev will look to kill Ward in the ring?

Fighting angry against a smart and crafty ring technician will only be Kovalev's undoing and get him another loss.

Take emotion out of it and stick to a game plan.

Kovalev winning 7 rounds plus a knockdown.
Yeah I can see that happening again too.

Kovalev will go for the kill if given the opportunity. And both fighters were very respectful in the buildup of the first match.

No. In his experience the method to killing someone is basically to prolong the beating. Kovalev will likely try to finish this one as soon as he has the opportunity, which could be bad since it could lead to predictable head hunting. I'm very interested in seeing his approach in the rematch.

I think Kovalev Should look for a KO.

In my book he clearly won the first fight and will not likely trust judges again.

Also, though I have always liked Ward and am a fan who incorrectly picked him as a decision-winner for the first fight, I feel Kovalev has been far better for the sport over the last few years. I like that he conducts himself as a sportsman who attends numerous fights supporting other boxers. I like that he is not a prima donna, but rather than that- is a good example of what a fighter should be.

We will see if the fight happens.

Note that expressing my opinion here is not to be confused with a belief on my part that Ward will honor the re-match agreement. I feel he will do just about anything to avoid it.

If he does, it will work against him. The key for Kov in defeating Ward is to let his hands go. If he is looking to take Wards head off with one big shot he will lose rounds.

Kov is much more than just power anyway. He has great fighting instinct and will capitalize on the opportunity should he hurt Ward. But, he should look to do enough work to win a decision should it come to that again. Hopefully this time there will be no controversy either way.

I think Kovalev will go in there terrified, submissive and looking to survive.

No seriously though I doubt Kovalev is really angry with Ward. He will probably try for a KO because he fears a decision might go against him again.

You reckon Kovalev would have a puncher's chance against Floyd, though? ;)

Lets hope so. Wouldnt want him to lose sight of winning rounds if it goes 12. Either way he needs to show ward less respect but also engage in less wrestling because thats exactly what ward wants. Still he'll have to look out for wards head, the headlocking kept him from being butted, this time he needs to focus on winning definitively even if he gets butted and cut by ward

This thread is gay, and trying way too hard to be edgy.
