Do you think Lomachenko has greater raw talent than Floyd

Hard to say how much raw talent they had since they were schooled in boxing since early age in a specific style by very good trainers who devoted a lot of attention to them.

I think raw talent is more recognizable in fighters like Pacquiao who didn't receive elite training and special attention in the beginning of their careers.

Obviously Loma and Floyd have huge talent as well but it's hard to recognize how much is their own talent and instinct and what was programmed into them.

For me, raw talent is a fighter who pretty much develops himself before he gets in the hands of elite trainers. For example someone like Kovalev.

 

All I can say is that Lomachencko started his pro career really late and struggled the minute he "stepped up" in competition. You can talk about the low blows but Gamboa, Garcia and Marquez got through Salido just fine.
Floyd when through the building stages of the pros since he was 18 and still had the skills to topple elite fighters at 38.
Time and competition will tell for Lomachencko. If he moves up to 135 with the Commey's, Easter's, and Garcia's he will have a big hurdle to get through outside of that WBO belt. It's going to be hard for HBO to lie and say that a 5'11" guy is ducking Loma.

Nonsense. He fought him in his second pro bout. Salido didn't even make weight. Now I'm not saying he is or he isn't more talented than Floyd I'm just saying your reasoning for saying no is ridiculous. If Floyd fought that fight in his second fight he loses as well, just look what Castillo did to him and that was many pro fights later. (And for the record I had Castillo winning by a point)

 

I think it's quite hard to say, two very different skill sets and styles.

Floyd is a defensive expert and was able to outbox so many top fighters using that defence.

Loma also has great defence, But I'd say Lomas best skills are his angles, footwork and speed.

Both phenomenal fighters and it's great that we've had them in recent years!

Never in my years of watching boxing and watching videos of old fight footage have I seen anyone with the ability of lomachenko. Just my opinion but I think he could go on to be one of the greatest of all time. He's got a lot of work to do yet though.
