Do you think Lomachenko has greater raw talent than Floyd

Hard to tell. Floyd has the best reflexes ever and is faster than Lomachenko. That makes him look even more skilled than he is.

Lomachencko depends less on dodging. I've never seen a fighter so good ay parrying punches. It's unbelievable how good he is a that. I think parrying takes more skill than dodging.

That's not to say I think Lomachenko has more skill than Floyd. Overall, Floyd is probably the better fighter with his combination of skill, speed and reflexes. He also takes less risks than Loma.

Please explain to us how you know that Loma will never reach Floyds level of success?

 

I agree with what one of the earlier posters said. Loma style as magnificent as it is, simply is not sustainable in his mid to late 30s. He will have to make adjustment to compensate for a deteriorating body, not from being hit but simply wear and tear.

Are we going to forget the struggles floyd had with Corley and Castillo when he stepped up? Loma was outweighed by nearly 20lbs against a dirty Salido yet still nearly had him out in the 12th round. That being said I cant take either guy over the other as far as raw talent goes. Both guys were well schooled from an early age. I think the most raw talent ive ever seen was Sergio Martinez. Dude started boxing at like age 20 or something crazy and became an elite level fighter which is crazy. I think Bhop id the same.

 

To give Mayweather credit (and I hated him as much as you can imagine at WW), he was a pretty decent fighter to watch at 130, as he actually had some pop and was more offense-oriented.

 

Floyd excelled in more than one style, only morphing into the defensive master during the latter part of his career, in much higher weight classes then the one in which he started and adapting his skill set to deal with brittle hands and diminished power. Loma has not yet had the chance to display a wider repertoire of styles in a brief career. Time will tell if he is able to - or needs to - reveal such versatility or a similar depth and breadth of natural talent that Mayweather managed to display over nearly two decades at the top.

Not sure how so many people are picking yes. In Floyd's physical prime he was faster, more powerful, and had incredible reflexes and timing. I think people are dazzled by the angles and whatnot and losing sight of Floyd's talent.

 

Impossible to tell. You'd need to take those who have trained both through their most developmental stages and compare memories. Good luck with that.

Those two have put in a minimum of 20,000 hours a piece honing their mastery to look so natural that people think they must've been gifted it. If you can distinguish between natural talent and maestro level skill at that level, you've got better eyes than me.
