I don't think so, I don't know what fight you saw, but there is no way he was even nearly as busted up as in the first fight. The man was nearly unrecognizable after the first fight.

    I don't think he cared.

Margarito seems like a self centered kind of guy.

It's a wonder how many other times he used loaded gloves in fights. He may have done it his whole career.

Unture, even with this inaccurate observation Cotto did take some leather due to the fact that he changed up his strategy and fought more on the inside to nullify some of the power from the longer armed Margo. That being said maybe Margo will always cause Cotto problems due to his combonation of physical traits conditioning and will. This doesnt take away from the fact that Cotto basically outboxed the man for a good majority of the rounds fought in both fights because Cotto is simply the better boxer while you can make the arguement that Margo is the better fighter.....they basically cancel eachother out. But to suggest he was about to quit or was taking the same punishment is just plain wrong...no offense.

None taken. I don't think he took the same punishment, however I would argue that if Margarito had both eyes, the 2nd fight fight could have ended in a similar way. I'm not convinces he had loaded wraps in the first fight, but I cant say he didnt either

Yeah I havent yelled from the top of the mountains that the man was a cheat though its only natural to think something shady may have gone on....again Margo is one of those fighters that would make almost anyone look just a little less tuff. These two guys will always give eachother fits.

Its time to give this scenario a rest. All you Cotto fans & Margarito haters need to face facts.....
Tony Margarito LEGITIMATELY beat Miguel Cotto & made him take a knee in submission. In the rematch , despite having only one good eye since round 2, Tony was coming on Cotto was starting to wilt. Only then did the NY doc decide to stop the fight. He really stopped it to avoid Cotto having to quit AGAIN!!! This was born out in the interview The doc stated " I stopped the fight because Margarito had been fighting since round 2 with only partial sight" Then he realized his faux pas * hastily added " But it was getting worse" Yeah sure he allowed Tony to fight for 8 rounds with one eye but stopped the fight when Cotto started to wilt.
In my opinion only one man clearly & legitimately beat Margarito & that was Manny Paquaio

Im not the one making accusations against a man when there is no evidence he ever did anything wrong in any fight. BUT
We do know that his opponent, on the night of Nazim Richardson's character assassination, WAS a self confessed EPO steroid abuser. Who also lied when first accused & claimed he'd passed a polygraph test proving his innocence. Then his signature popped up on BALCO receipts & he was m BUSTED!!!!!!
Only cheaters on that night were Richardson & Mosely

I agree that Cotto was'nt as busted up in the rematch, but also take into account that with working with just seeing with one eye, he did'nt land nearly as much and Cotto's face still looked like he took a pounding from a fighter many say only did such damage because his wraps were loaded.

The rematch saw a case where Margarito's clean gloves still caused alot of damage with little connects.
What does that tell you about Margarito's fists being able to cause damage and with so few clean connects????

I'm pretty sure after taking that kind of damage your face tends to bruise a little easier for your next fight....I mean its simple logic so I can't see what your attempting to prove with this statement? I dunno man maybe I just smoke to much mary jane and I can't get on your level :think

Next fight???? Rematch took place 3 years and 5 fights later for Cotto.
The only time Cotto's face got badly bruised in the total of those 6 fights after the first Margarito fight was against Pacquiao and then the Margarito fight 3 years after.

There are fighters out there who bruise easily, but Cotto is'nt one of them.

Your pulling my leg right, joking with me maybe even attempting to get a rise out of my mellow self....right? Cotto's face doesnt bruise easily? lololololol also please tell me you can decipher what I mean by "next fight" you do know that the bruises/injuries/cuts and what have you last longer than just the next serveral months after a fight....your threashold is drastically reduced as the scar tissues increases.....

Your a funny dude man...I heard when Divac was on the lakers he was quite the clown but this is over the top.
