Well, I stand correctd on Mcgwire, but he did take PED's (andro) I consider that a PED......once again margo has no track record except the mosley fight....i give him the benefit of the doubt, and personally I don't think margo has been investigated enough, If i was a commission or attorney, I would interview his past opponents, and their trainers, and go more in-depth, which I think would give some sort of closure on this issue......

and I also feel there is a chance capetillo, might have lied to tony, and tony could very well be completley innocent, people fail to bring this up...

Its cool on McGwire (its a boxing forum...we cant be held to our knowledge of lesser sports LOL!)...

    :good

As for Capetillo pulling the wool over Tony's eyes so to say. There is one problem with that. As someone who has fought myself (only the lowest levels of amatuers, which lends credence to my thoughts on this...as Margo did this for a career at the highest levels of a pro), you can DEFINATELY tell the difference when your hand is wrapped in a different or wrong/odd fashion. The only way Margo wouldnt notice something like that is if he truely was doing it for his entire career, and therefore, really couldnt tell the difference. Otherwise, he can tell...and knew.

Again, as Ive said from post number one of mine...I do not claim to know this for a fact, never would do so without proof. But, if I had to guess or lend my opinion on it. I think he did.

Fair enough, I could see that, I have siad I thought capetillo is more guilty then tony, it seems to me he is the one that started all this IMO...similar to panama lewis......when I saw "assult in the ring" it actually made me have more sympathy for margarito....it showed to me, that the trainers are the ones most of times that introduce illegal materials in boxing....but thats just IMO

It is true that in many cases, these trainers tend to be like father figures to fighters. They spend so much time and give so much of themselves to these men that they will basically follow them off of a cliff. I could see a fighter being swayed by his trainer to do something outside of the scope of the rules...or if they have been with them since day one (Im really not sure, has Tony been with Capetillo since the ams or early pro???), maybe they were fooled from the outset. Any of these could happen with the way they sometimes look up to their respective father figures.

I really need to check out "Assault in the Ring"...I TIVO'd it, but recently got promoted at work so Ive been doing like 65 hours a week. Add that to trying my best to spend time with my 3 year old AND getting married NEXT WEEK!!! and you have one dusty ass TIVO!!!!

I personally think he did cheat in the fight simply because of the way Cotto's face looked...please where have you seen his face swell up like that in any fight before or after?

I guess, sadly we will never know for sure...

It is very much possible. But since there's no evidence, i wont believe it.

To me, he is guilty of loading gloves ONLY at the Mosely fight. And should be given the proper penalty/sanction he desrves.

I cosign on this....When it comes to performance enhancing you NEVER do it once unless the first time you get caught.HE probably used them most of his career but it is what it is..Cotto lost I was mad about it and I moved on...

Here's what I think. Margarito looked pedestrian and useless against Mosely. His shots, what ones he caught him with, didn't seem to have anything on them at all - in the Cotto fight his 'jab' looked like it hurt Cotto. At the start of his career he wasn't really getting that many KOs/TKOs. Then look at his last friggin' 22 fights prior to the Mosely fight. Only 2 of his wins went the distance. One was against Danny Perez, who has 5 losses and never been knocked out, and the other was Joshua Clottey, who was actually winning the fight before he broke his finger. Contrast that to his first 14 wins, during which 7 of them were by points. Usually it's in the beginning of someone's career when they score KOs over opponents and then later on, their KO ratios slow down as they step up to face world class opposition. WTF? Not the case with Margarito. It's like something happened in 1999 that turned Margarito into a vicious knockout artist, where his record shifted from 50% points wins to almost entirely TKOs and KOs - 91%. A 41% jump.

I actually did some research following that conclusion. You know what I found out? Capetillo became Margarito's trainer in 1999. What a freakish coincidence - Capetillo steps in and Margarito's KO percentage skyrockets even though his quality of opposition is also increasing. Behold the below ESPN website that states as such. Enjoy!

Yes i do believe Margarito cheated but it will never be proven.

Cottos fighting the number one P4P fighter and Margo got knocked out and suspended. Maybe there is justice after all.

Exactly, another logical question is did Margarito do anything close to what he did to Cotto to anyone else before?, hell no. He had Cotto's nose broken early and Cotto looked like he was in a 10 rounder after round 4. He couldn't do something similar to that against lesser opponents yet he shows up like that for Cotto only?, nonsense.

Like I said, if he did it against a shot Mosley who was considered a tune-up then he sure as **** would do it in a fight considered his LAST CHANCE and promoted as that.
