Pac doesnt need Marquez, its the other way around Manny isnt ducking him had it not been for a self admitted error by one judge in their first fight officially Manny would hold two wins over Marquez.

Now considering the fight the world wants to see isnt happening look at the way Marquez looked against the #2 P4P fighter in the world... JMM needs to step back to reality a bit here, he does not deserve 5 million he doesnt deserve a rematch to be honest with you but if he wants the third fight he is going to have to realize that he is not the star here.

What ever was the financial compensation for Clottey in his fight with Pac - double it.

Edit: Assuming JMM can pull the same amount PPV and live gate buys. If not, still double it but have Marquez Promotion share the promotion liability (co promote). See if he really thinks he think he can be a draw and not just riding on Pac's mainstream popularity.

Considering Pac would earn over treble that, yeah, I absolutely think Marquez is worth $5m.

$2 million is too low. Assuming Pac gets a similar guaranteed purse of $8 million, that would be a split of 80/20. I think Marquez deserves a minimum of 30%, which means $3 million for him and $7 million for Pac.

$5M flat would be much less than Pacquiao's last few opponents have received (other than Clottey), so sure. Plus, it's not like they drew a line in the sand. It was a starting point for negotiations. IMO, if Arum didn't even make a counteroffer to that, then I think he probably solicited the offer in bad faith (e.g., he made the offer just so it could look like he wasn't ignoring Marquez, but he never had any intention of negotiating with Marquez).

The fight would probably generate about $30M in purses overall - people don't think that Marquez getting 1/6th of the purse is fair?

if he gets more than 2 million there should be a clause in the contract that JMM can not drink his **** during training or at any point at all before the fight....

I don't think 'deserving' is the contention of Pac and TR. Personally, as a fighter I think he deserves MILLIONS. More than Margo, Clottey, and Hatton.

But as a business product? Not so much. Much less than Hatton.

The problem is the history of JMM fights able to pull in. Minus the PBF fight, what JMM fight is there to say he can do big PPV?

If JMM can put the money up to promote the fight (like GBP did for PBF vs JMM) he should since he thinks he "deserves" it. So if the event is a success, he gets paid. If it fails, he would have no one to blame but himself.

So basically, ask JMM to put his money where his mouth is.

I don't think 5 million is unreasonable at all. Marquez has a lot of Mexican fans and if they fought in Cowboy's stadium, they would make a killing at the gate.

    Got this from another thread:

    Manny Pacquiao Guaranteed Purses:

Pacquiao $15 Million vs. Margarito $3 Million
Pacquiao $12 Million vs. Clottey $1.5 Million
Pacquiao $7.5 million vs. Miguel Cotto $4 Million
Pacquiao $12 million vs. Ricky Hatton $11 Million
Pacquiao $6 Million vs. De la Hoya $20 Million
Pacquiao $3 million vs. David Diaz 800k
Pacquiao $2.5 Million vs. Juan Manuel Marquez 2 $500K
Pacquiao $650.000 vs Juan Manuel Marquez $500k

I think he should get twice more than Clottey but less than Cotto, so $5 million is out of the ballpark.

He deserves 5 millions and even more. If Margarito, the limited fighter, was able to get more than 5 millions. I wonder how much more Marquez deserves for this fight.

Margo is definitely the harder opponent, IMO.

If 5 mill for marquez if pricing himself out then **** Arum. If anyone deserves it, it's the great JMM. He's a huge draw himself.
