He's not really in a position to demand anything, though obviously he deserves the $5 million.

It is the advantage. But to say he just has to 'man up' and take whatever Pac offers is BS. So Margo is the bigger draw in your eyes? You think Margo brought more fans to see him face Pac than JMM will?

LOL that's the point. Top Rank make Marquez an offer and see if Marquez want the fight or not...it's that easy. Yes or no.

JMM should take any offer and if he beats Pac he'll cash in if Manny wants another fight.

That makes sense IF JMM honestly thought he could beat PAC. but my guess is he knows the chances are slim to none so I can't blame the kid for pushing for more money. And if it were my choice I'd give it to him. But the fact is JMM is definitly not the fighter he was 3 yrs ago and he's at the end of his career...so to **** up his biggest pay day by out pricing himself is the dumbest move he can make. Knowing what he was paid for the Floyd fight, it would be smart to not EXCEED the purse he got for a fighter who does bigger PPV numbers than PAC.

Margarito and Clottey were not better selections or bigger draws. Shane is not a better selection, either. If Floyd can do 1M buys in a fight with JMM, which was considered a mismatch, Manny should be able to do over 1M buys given their history, comparative size, two very dedicated fan bases, the intrigue of a trilogy, their recent successes, etc. JMM is, right now, the best possible B-Side for Pac...period.

It's not about this fight not making money...it's about having to share that money with GBP, among other things. :verysad

Oh for sure! PAC/JMM would do better numbers than PAC vs Marg that's for sure. But if we are talking what fight would generate the most money it's a fight with shane point blank. That is seen as more competitive than a blown up 37 yr old JMM at 147. The history unfortnately has an experation date and the fact that JMM has already prove he's not effective above 140 in his outing with Floyd only further diminishes the "shine" of this fight. Don't get me wrong...the fans want to see it and they will buy it but this fight ain't gonna happen if JMM doesn't know his role.

If Khan can get $1.5 million for fighting Maidana ... JMM should definitely get $5M for fighting Pac

Bob knows better. Floyd/Shane=1.4m ppv > Floyd/JMM=1.025m ppv.

Marquez will be pissed, because Bob Arum will give Shane $5m plus ppv cut.

Bob knows Pac/Shane will sell more than Pac/JMM.
