Perfect stoppage. He threw only 2 shots in over a minute while taking a LOT himself, the ref gave him every chance in the world to fight back.

The fact that KAts did not complain tells me it was over.

It depends how you look at it. From the Richard Steele perspective of "you want to stop it right before the punch that will KO the guy" it was premature.

But fact is, Katsidis didn't have a chance at that point. He wasn't going to make a comeback or ride out the storm, and Marquez is too accurate a puncher to just keep taking shots from. Also add that this was in the late rounds where damage is most easily done to the brain, and I think it was a good stoppage.

Nope. Stoppage was good. Katsidis was out on his feet, what's the point of taking punches at that stage without being able to fight back?, it will only ruin his career. He can live to fight another day now.

    no

katsidis was getting knocked from pillar to post and had no defence

he was getting hit punch after punch by a very hard hitter and wasnt throwing much if anything back

No. It was a classy and perfectly timed stoppage by the best ref in boxing.
Even lamps statement was in sync with the stoppage. It was over, and
    nobody complained.

No. It was a fair stoppage but considering it was Katsidis it may have been a touch on the early side.....

Kats had no chance, he was out on his feet. His balance was shot, he was staggering around the ring, and the only thing that could have possibly happened at that point is that he gets seriously hurt. It was a very good stoppage.

I think they should have stopped the sooner --- like the 4th round when Marquez got dropped.
But they gave Marquez a chance.
    No such thing for Kat.

Katsids's legs were gone and he was getting hit with everything Marquez threw ! The fact that Michael did'nt complain tells the truth . Great fight between two warriors. Both walk away to fight again.

    ..?

Getting dropped and getting back up right after and eating more than 20 unanswered accurate shots to a bleeding face are the same thing?

    Perfect stoppage.

When Katsidis isn't marching forward throwing all kinds of punches you know something isn't quite right...... plus Bayless had a good long look.

It wasn't like a British stoppage where three unanswered punches that probably miss results in the referee diving in there.
