Do you think Mayweather not fighting at 160 will harm his legacy?

The guy didn't watch Duran's career. We already know that one.

Fought in the Olympics as a Featherweight, made his debut at Super Featherweight. I would say he's done enough. But you got those who need to whine about something I guess.

Curtis Stevens dropped down from the higher weight classes I doubt he eats what he wants to make 160 lbs otherwise he would have been fighting there a long time ago if not lower.

In terms of Floyd he won his first world title at 130 lbs and has fought up to 154 lbs, don't think not fighting at 160 lbs effects his legacy at all.

He's not even a big welterweight. IMO the guy has been fighting outside of his natural weight class- 140 lbs- for almost 10 years now. His skills have allowed him to be champion at 47 and 54.

I don't think there's too many examples out there of guys who started at SFW and went up all the way to MW and were successful. Off the top of my head, I know DLH did it, but I mean does anyone honestly think he beat Felix Sturm in that fight leading up to him getting knocked out by Hopkins?

The other guy I'm thinking of was Roberto Duran. It's one of the reasons he's universally considered one of the ten or so greatest fighters to ever live.

Now realistically, say Canelo and Cotto ended up fighting, I could see Floyd taking on the winner of that match. I don't see him fighting someone like GGG though, and I have no problem with that.

Now hypothetically if he were to take on GGG and somehow beat him, that win would rank much higher to me than Duran beating up on Iran Barkley. I'd also probably put him in my top 10 of all time if he did that.

Does Hagler not fighting in a single division other than 160 dramatically hurt his legacy?

Does Pacquiao not fighting at 154 dramatically hurt his legacy?

Does Hopkins never winning a title at 168 hurt his legacy?

nope. I don't think you can use Duran's accomplishments to compare any other fighter with. Mayweather's career accomplishments are what they are, and if he beats Pac that'll be one thing, and if he doesn't his legacy will suffer, but either way it's more relevant than whether or not he fights at middleweight.

Should Pacquiao fight at middleweight? Cotto is only 1" taller than him :rofl
