Do you think Mayweather would go up to 160 to fight the winner of Martinez/Cotto?

He's beat Cotto once and Martinez is small for the division. It would be impressive if he could reign as lineal in 3 divisions at once.

I have said this many times here over the years and Mayweather has always proven me right. Let me just say it once more loud and clear so you can carve it in stone on the Mausoleum of Cowardly Ducking Boxers located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas: "FLOYD MAYWEATHER DOES NOT HAVE THE BALLS TO GET IN THE RING WITH SERGIO MARTINEZ."

The fact that Cotto, who is the same size as Floyd, but less of a boxer, is willing to get in the ring with Martinez, speaks volumes about Floyd's cowardice.

williams, margo, martinez, virtually interchangeable, all missing from floyd's resume. 2 lefties, the other does arm punches, solid to granite chin, all with high workrate and no stam problem.

    conincidence? some say cowardice.:deal

He will fight Cotto in Septemeber if he wins. will he fight Martinez? I dont know. i think hes thought about it though. I mean Martinez just keep his hands down, Mayweather would box the crap out of him. Not that much bigger either. hes got 4 fights left on contract and possibly 1 more after that so hes got to be weighing options.

IMO he would fight Pacquiao before he fights Martinez. closer weight, get way more recongtion with a win

If he becomes lineal champ at 160, 3 lineal titles at the same time, he would probably be in my top 10 no lie! u put that with most accuract boxer of all time (only compared to compubox thats been out 20+ years) top 5 in defense if not The best defensive fighter ever (had thread about that) only 1 close fight, hasnt lost more then 4 rounds in a fight maybe his whole career...Yeah top 10.

Lets not get ahead though, he might never go to 160, just saying. and he doesnt need to either. Im happy for Cotto, i hope he does it for our country, first Rican ever to win in 4 weight classes, bring it home PaPa!!!!

He will if Cotto somehow does the unthinkable, but if Maravilla (easily) wins like expected he won't even think about it.

And even then, he'll only escape without being knocked out cold if he "hardens his face/stiffens his neck" to absorb the punches, isn't that right ********? :yep

How is it any different from Pac's 8th weight class if it's from Cotto?

If Cotto wins, Mayweather would definitely move up to get a Middleweight title. There's a chance he would fight Martinez, but it's a better chance with Cotto, since he's a more similar build to Mayweather (and he already beat him once). Martinez would look huge compared to Floyd. Bigger than Canelo.
