Do you think Mayweather would go up to 160 to fight the winner of Martinez/Cotto?

If Cotto wins yes. If Maravilla looks shot and gets a close decision, Floyd might think about it, but still probably not.

I don't see him moving up to 160lbs, he barely makes 154lbs. I could see him fighting martinez at 154lbs should Martinez win the fight. Cotto I think is shorter than Mayweather, but weight wise he's the bigger man. He probaly walk around at 165 to 170lbs. Floyd will only move up so far because he don't want to loose his advantage in speed. Imagine how much more Martinez will weigh if Floyd fought him at 160lbs, considering Floyd is barely making 154lbs? Once Martinez rehydrate he'll be close to 180lbs fighting a guy that's about 154lbs.

So let me get this straight. ....the *****s want Floyd CATCHweather to fight Cotto at MW if he beats Martinez for the lineal MW belt. But yet CATCHweather refused to fight Canelo at the full limit of JrMW. Will he fight for the MW title at 155 lbs?

Even with the size advantage Canelo had, which was obvious on fight night. He still couldn't do anything with it. Floyd had him on the ropes toying with him. The only thing he would of probably done with the extra weight is absorb Floyd punches better, but what good is that if can't even catch his target to do some damage of his own?

    True.

Same goes for Cotto -Pac though.

Cotto wasn't called weight drained by anyone at the time. Oscar was weight drained, Dawson was weight drained. Cotto and Canelo were fine.

I take nothing from Pac for beating Cotto. Cotto wasn't weight drain like De la Hoya was, so that was a good victory for Pac, although I think he could of still done that if Cotto fought him at 147lbs. I'm not sure about this, but was Cotto allowed to rehydrate when he fought Pac, because that does make a difference with a fighters performance?

As far as I know there has never been a rehydration clause in any boxing match. Just rumour and speculation.

I really doubt there was one for Cotto.

Because he beats Cotto at any weight.

If Cotto beats Martinez why not fight him for the lineal MW title in a one off?

Well I would only want Floyd at 160 if he could at least hang around and defend the title like Broner did at 147. If not bro then he will be labeled the biggest picker EVER:roll:

It sounds good but only if he planed on staying up to defend the title and if not then I think it just helps the fans that hate point out a flaw:hey

What do I know as I am just a boxing fan brother:good

So Pac was suppose to jump from 135 to 154 to fight ODLH? It was ODLH who wanted easy pickings by chosing to fight Pac at 147lbs instead of making Cotto or Margarito come up to 154lbs to fight him. It backfired on him. No one and their mother gave Pac a shot in that fight, including me. It was after the fact that everyone knew ODLH was drained.

What? I'm talking after the fact.

I never said anything other than DLH was weight drained, which he was. I'm not blaming Pac, I'm just saying he was clearly drained, and Cotto clearly wasn't.

Same as with Dawson. I don't blame Ward that Dawson chose to zombiefy himself either.

    Defensive much?

I agree, the outcome would of been the same. The problem is he drained Canelo just like Pac drained Cotto as the *****s claim. If the win over Cotto is not legit because Pac didn't fight him at the full WW limit than Floyd's win over Canelo must be the same. And I still believe Pac/Cotto would've been the same outcome at the full WW limit too.

True, but I'd say it's more comparable to Roy going up and beating the relatively weak champ in Ruiz and then stepping back down.

Either way, becoming the lineal MW champ would be an achievement. Haters gunna hate no matter what.
