He was great to watch in the day, one of my favorite fighters. He should have won the Trinidad fight, he made a major mistake there. I also believe a younger more aggressive ODLH would have beaten Mayweather. He fell just short of what he could have been, in not beating Trinidad and Mosley.

Absolutely not! At his peak he was a crafty fighter who used lateral movement and evasive maneuvers to counterpunch instead of coming straight forward as he did when he began to lose.

He truncated his own career by listening to the demands of the Mexican fans that he fight liker a Mexican after his loss to Trinidad. From that point on his career took a permanent nosedive since he wasn't as successful at it as he had been with his previous style that utilized a great deal of evasive tactics. IMHO

    BTW
Mexican fan Criticism of his performance in the Trinidad fight included calling him a false Mexican and comparing him to fighting like a little girl.

knowing the substance problems he's had/has since his career has been over you wonder how far back it goes and how much it affected his career

Oscar, with a prime Pipino Cuevas attitude, would have been force.

not close.. he fought great guys moving up from 140, but he had his best power there. I think he should have tried to stay at 140 and build a legacy there and been known as a big puncher.
