Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?

Naw, I don't see PacMan giving Hatton a beating. Hatton will be able to get inside with his hands up to his head and PacMan will have trouble getting off his shots. So, I say no PacMan won't give Hatton a beatdown.

The JMM fight was a draw and after the first round JMM pretty much took it to Manny. There needs to be a third fight.

PAC had the speed, but Haton has a bit more power. If Haton can keep pac at a comfertable distance, then he'll do alright. If he tries to close the game and see who can hit the fastest, I don't believe there's anyone that can beet PaCs speed at this time. Haton would have to work his jab and keep PAC out of his reach.

I'm sorry Scott, I think that the complete opposite is true. If Pac can keep Hatton at distance then he wins because he takes away Hattons best weapons, his body attack and all around inside game, which is superior to the Pinoys.

I think Pac can inflict the worst beating to Hatton as much as Hatton can do just the same beating to him. I favor Pac in this fight mainly for his handspeed and quickness but Hatton, a powerful body puncher can be the most dangerous opponent for him as he apparently has a soft body.

Now I don't profess to know much about boxing, so take all this with as large a pinch of salt as you need to suspend disbelief temporarily...

Ricky Hatton has demonstrated in previous bouts that he can hurt opponents with his hooks to the body. Also, it seems to be received wisdom that fighters tend to slow down if they get hurt by body punches.

If Hatton can get close enough to smother Pacquiao's own work, and then manages to connect with those hooks hard and often, would it not slow down Pacquiao enough that speed would be less of an issue as the fight goes on? And if that is the case, what would Pacquiao have to do in order to stop Hatton from carrying out such a gameplan?

Hatton was certainly fast enough to get in close against Mayweather, at least in the first few rounds (albeit without much lasting effect due to Mayweather's aforementioned defensive abilities, and possibly some pre-fight psychology applied to the referee by Mayweather's corner, depending on who's watching).

From the limited amount I've seen of Pacquiao, he doesn't appear to possess the same level of defensive ability up close as Mayweather has/had (maybe I need to watch more of his fights, however - as I said, I don't claim any real boxing knowledge).

So, if Hatton can live with taking the odd punch on the way in (or is clever enough to avoid most of said punches), can Pacquiao avoid getting caught in that hypothetical situation often enough to execute his own gameplan, in your opinions?

(I realise that I may be regurgitating some previously-posted content from other members, but I want to get some considered opinions so that I can get a good idea of the perceived likelihood of such a thing occurring without any of the name-calling and fanboyism, if possible. Some people do really know their stuff in here, after all.)
