Let's just pretend that the fight was made. Do you think that antics and taunting that Mayweather does in the press conference would have gotten under Cotto's skin. i don't think anyone has antagonized Cotto like Mayweather would have. Do you think that Mayweather would have penetrated Cotto's cool and collected exterior with the psychological games he likes in the pre-fight press conference?
Valid question. I would like to think that Cotto is at the top of his game, and with how cool and collected he is he wouldn't be bothered......but Mayweather would surely test him
No...Cotto seems impervuous to that sort of ****. Floyd might make him a little uncomfortable...but not enough for him to lose his cool or anything like that.
Not at all ..Its funny but Mw only does that behind of wall of security gaurds but watch the later press confrences with Ricky when Ricky was nose to nose with him Pretty seemed to not be so vocal and kind of put his chest back into his torsoe Cotto would respond but not lose his cool
Doubtful. Floyd's antics are bordering cartoonish. If anything, I think Mayweather's childish behavior and **** talk would make Cotto roll his eyes more then get mad. Even Hatton seemed to just laugh off Mayweather's boorish antics. Mayweather doesn't have the ability to play an effective villain ala' Hopkins. Mayweather's a villian only in a fake ass WWE sense.
The thing is tha Hopkins makes more inflamattory and controversial comments. Hatton seemed to laugh it off but I really think that mayweather got to him on a psychological level.
mayweather makes it personal, it just depends what kind of guy cotto is, if he goes out trying to prove something about his machoness, he may get creamed
I agree. Mayweather got to Hatton. Mayweather got to De La Hoya. Mayweather got to Gatti. Whether or not his antics affected the outcome of those fights is hard to say - however, it's clearly documented that he got all of them upset and pissed them off during the leadup to the actual fights.
There's often a bit of truth behind things that get to us. Professional loudmouths alla Mayweather make it a mission everytime to find that one thing that will hit a nerve. Gatti, for one, wasn't exactly confident going into his fight against Mayweather so being called a paper champion and a bum might have gotten to him. Cotto, I wouldn't know. He seems pretty sure of himself.
Oh no doubt but when face to face before the fight Floyd didn't seem as vocal but your right he let his fists do the talking in the end..But Cotto I don't think he will even be fazed 1 bit .
