I think every man has a boiling point and w/ PBF it wouldn't take much ... as a man/prize fighter you don't think much of him (stature wise) and you probably think that you can beat his ass ... and have an effective game plan in effect.

Some of you guys are giving mayweather too much credit. A man like Cotto isnt going to take someone who cries like a little ***** after every victory seriously. Cotto is ice cold. He is a man who handles his business in the ring. He doesnt let stuff get to him. Do you think anything Floyd can say to him would be harder to deal with than his brother and uncle fighting, or a career ending surgery? floyd's corny and borderline homo remarks wouldnt phase him. the most that would happen is that he would laugh it off and simply say he'll do his talking in the ring.

Bull****, its irrelivant how they squared up

Verbally Mayweather turned Hatton into a mad man at times, Hatton completely lost his cool and was out of character

It wasnt even that Mayweather was saying anything that 'owned' Hatton , cause he wasnt, it was the fact someone had looked down on Hatton and basically didnt give a **** who he was nor what he could do.

This seriously got to Hatton and he reacted by trading insults with Mayweather, admittidle winning the verbal battles sometimes, BUT non the less hat wouldnt have bothered Mayweather, whereas Hatton wasnt used to that situation

    Either is Cotto

Mayweather had that fight against Hatton won long before they got into the ring

I wouldnt say mayweather won long before they got into the ring - i think it was won at the weigh in - he goaded hatton an inch too far, and hatton snapped - he shouldnt have done, if he had kept his cool, when his own fans had CLEARLY intimidated mayweather, there was a chance that may have had an effect in floyds head.

with regards to the thread - YES, mayweather will try anything and everything, and to a guy who likes to not make any comment, not call out any fighter - floyd will play on everything in his career - any mistake, and low point in any round in a fight etc. the reason floyd is such a great fighter, is he knows how to make a fighter doubt himself before he even enters a ring.

To truly test floyd i think you need to trash talk him back that much that even he doubts himself - however, from watching floyd in conferences etc. i see someone who has a far greater control over himself than the impression he likes to portray. Everything he seems to do lately is to give himself maximum media exposure. Hatton showed signs it could be done, but it'd need to be constant, it'd need to be matched inch for inch with floyds - so that floyd increases his own attempts - if you can continue to match floyds mental taunts without letting it bother you - really, if you figure out what floyds game is beforehand, a strong willed enough fighter should be able to do so, you may - may, just be able to unsettle floyd a little bit, because if he doubts himself - and your skills are of a high level yourself, thats when it will become interesting.

That was the straw that broke the camels back

I was sitting in a pub watching it live in London, all the Hatton fans were saying how Hatton was going to murder him after watching the weigh in

I just turned and said 'this fights over now, Hattons lost it, Mayweathers beat him already..mark my words'

    Course they didnt agree

I still believed he could win, but there was a nagging feeling I hadn't felt once in the run up to that fight - even he admits that was a mistake, he had managed to really goad floyd in that prefight run up - and the way the british fans went at mayweather - he was worried, and i think he was almost desperate to get something out of hatton - that was it, and it gave him a SERIOUS mental advantage.

And de la Hoya was obviously affected, Lance, because I remember in one press conference he was saying how much he'd love to beat him - really passionate, that was a result of mayweather goading, and psyching him out.

Who's the ****ing baby? You. You were the baby then, you're the baby now.

Yes, by acting like a jackass in front of them, how the hell else? Do you think Floyd Mayweather was prank calling them late at night and breathing on the other end of the phone and hanging up?? How is it documented? In the ****ing countdown shows and interviews leading up to the fight. DUH.

Either you're an argumentative ***** who likes to start fights, or you're ****ing stupid to be asking this.
